Why does he lick any type of material?
 
Stupid question, but my yorkie licks any type of material he can get a hold of....Carpet, bedsheets, clothing etc. He can do it for minutes on end. Does anyone have any idea as to why he does this??? Is he the only one that does this? Does anyones yorkie do this also? How can I get him to stop?

Mine does this too, he leaves huge wet spots on the couch all the time. He could like people forever too! I looked it up online and its actually a form of OCD, you can get medicine for it but I don't think its too big of a deal in my house. Hope I helped!

I have 3 yorkies and all 3 would lick you to death! This is just a characteristic with the breed. I looked it up after bringing my first kiss addicted furbaby home because it drove me CrAzY... Ovr the years I have come to embrace and expect it LOL I don't know how I would feel if I wasn't woke every morning having my face licked... I might even feel a little neglected LOL

My yorkie doesn't do this but my cocker does! He will lick anything that's in front of his face. I've actually caught him licking the wall. LoL. That OCD thing is interesting, I've never heard that before.

My yorkie is a huge licker.....I can't count how many times he gets me during the day. I've actually caught him licking my pillow too.

I have no answers for you... but I have an extreme licker too. Yesterday he cuddled up beside me half on the arm of the couch, half on the pillow and started licking the pillow. He licks the floor. He licks the bed spread. He licks the carpet. He licks the walls. He licks everything!!!!

That's funny....I was coming on here today to search "licking" lol. Because Romeo will lick me to death. :D Any part of me that is close to him he will lick, my arms, my pants...... I have also seen him lick the carpet, couch, pillows....Well I'm glad he is not the only one. :p

Uni licks the couches too. She'll leave wet spots. I don't know what's so tasty about them. She also licks our tattoos, like she thinks they are dirty spots on us trying th help us clean up!

Lol dirty spots!! :p What a nice yorkie Uni is, trying to clean mama and dada up like that! hehe




Stormy was a HUGE licker and she could lick my arm for hours if I let her. She would lick her paws alot too, and I think the OCD thing seems like it would fit.

Lola isn't too much of a licker, not like Stormy was. She does love to give kisses but she's not that big of a cuddler.

Cali licks everything all the time drives my daughter crazy since she is in her room a lot.
None of my other do that.
