Biewer owners I have a question??? My friend found an ad for biewer pups and emailed me the pictures to see. do these look like biewers to you? They are cute but I thought biewers were mostly white. and below is what the ad said. These are 2 Biewer Puppies 3 month old, male and almost done poddy trained. Both have 3 colors. the whit has also brown and black, and the dark one is black, silver and brown. They are pure Biewers, mommy and daddy can be seen at my house also. They will get about 25 cm tall and about 9 pounds. |
First pic could be, the second one doesn't look like it. I don't really even see any white on it anywhere. The feet are supposed to be white, but clearly they are not. Maybe he is a splitter? Then again, half of the pictures of Yorkies I see these days don't "look like Yorkies," so who knows really! |
They are cute. It appears one is a splitter (Yorkie/Biewer parents) and one may be a Biewer. But if they are sibs, the parents likely a splitter and Biewer. Hard to tell for sure though. Biewers markings can vary quite a bit, but the standard on coloring calls for 4 white legs, white tail and belly and tri colored head. |

My friend emailed them asking for pictures of the parents and some questions. will see what they tell her. they are asking a very cheap price for them both. |

I agree with the information that you have already received. If these two are siblings, most likely one of the parents are a Biewer and the other a Splitter (meaning that it came from a Yorkie (or another Splitter) bred to a Biewer). I personally feel very strongly that we should be breeding the Biewers back to the Yorkies for various reasons, the most important to expand the very limited number of lines that we have. I do, however, feel that this should be done carefully and only to build upon the Biewers. The puppies from these litters need to be carefully monitored to ensure that they will truly better the Biewers and when sold, need to be sold for what they are. In Germany, when you have a litter like this, the Biewer colored pups are registered as Biewers and the traditional Yorkie colored pups are registered as Yorkies. The breeders really need to understand this as it is important for not only the Biewers, but the Yorkies as well. While the resulting pups might be registered as Yorkies, the breeder really needs to ensure that unless sold to a Biewer breeder who really understands all of this, that they are sold as pets on spay / neuter contracts. Many Yorkie breeders worry that these pups will be sold as Yorkies to novice Yorkie breeders who will then breed them into the traditional Yorkie lines. This isn't to say that the person your friend is in conact with is a bad breeder. They may simply be very misinformed. I personally would suggest that your friend really talk to the breeder about this to understand their way of thinking. If they are misinformed, perhaps it will help persuade them to get out there and do more research on the subject. If not and they don't seem to care too much, I would advise your friend to be hesitant in purchasing from them. |
Ok the lady emailed my friend pictures of the parents. these Dogs do not look like biewers to me. but I dont know nothing about beiwers. so heres the pics. |

and I couldnt help her much I dont know any thing about the biewers |
ok she emailed back and this is what she had to say. i have viewed all kinds of different websites in germany about these biewers and they all tell different. I found what they call ours are silky dust. them puppys are both brothers from the same litter and the white one doesn't look at all like their parents from the color. in almost every litter, we have a white tri color and the rest looks like their parents. black, silver and tan. i lived in germany for 40 years and even seen a rare biewer it was called gold dust biewer it had kind of a red color instead of brown but only two colors. and it had papers. years later the breeder club took these kind back and they no longer got papers and they were called missbreeds. i bought the parents in germany years ago as biewer yorkshires. i also had bought another she was almost pure white, only the long hair on the ears were black and she had a large light brown spot on her back. that's the info i have about my dogs and even the pet doc reconized them as biewers when we had to go through a lot of shots to be able to come to the usa. |
The pups look much older than 3 months. And after seeing pics of the parents as well, doesnt look like they are well groomed. Id be embarassed to send those pics out! I'd advise your friend to pass. They should have at least been brushed with hair out of their eyes for photos :thumbdown |
