Gosh, for $10 it will really be worth it! Sadie will get lots of socializing and play time which will really help make up for the fact she was taken from her mom and littermates too young.

It sounds like a perfect solution to those long days when you and your husband work the same shift.

Victoria Stillwell on one of her shows said that you only need the first 30 minutes of something to take their mind off of you and then after that they sort of forget and settle in. She did that for a dog that had severe separation and she used a video camera to see what the dog would do and it worked. The owner gave the dog something to do immediately when leaving the house and within 30 minutes the dog settled in on its bed. :D

Wow:eek: $10??? I'd do that in a heartbeat a few times a week for my kiddos but all the ones around me are way more expensive.:(

Okay i went to look at the day care by my work. They said as long as the vet approves they would take her at 10 weeks old and keep her up in another room up front away from the bigger dogs. she would have her own crate and blankets, i would be able to feed her at noon and they said they can keep her raw food for me. she would only be around one other dog, a female baby beagle of 12 weeks. she gets her second round of DHPP and giardia Saturday and i don't know what else they will do with her then...the day care lady said maybe do a shot of kennel cough before bringing her in there...she's not done with the rest of them and has no rabies vaccine or spay yet (obviously)

What i'm asking is...do you think this would be okay at her age if they keep her only with the beagle puppy?? they can play in their own room and nap and they said they would clean the indoor doggie park area 3 times a day and promised to take Sadie out to potty using the bell and my command phrases and take her right after the cleaning only so she's not around other doggie messes or ever with the big dogs...

does this sound okay and better than at home in her x pen, it's only for those once in awhile days that Mike works the same hours as me????

Let me know your opinions because i don't want her to get sick if she really shouldn't be there this young...

WANTED TO ADD: this is a private family owned facility not a petsmart or petco type...it's privately owned by a man and wife duo and they are there 24/7 to care for the dogs

Have your vet give her the Bordatella which is for kennel cough.

i would certainly talk to your vet before you decide. he/she would probably say not to do it before your pup has had the rabies vaccine. I was bringing my pup to daycare for a while and he loved it! Of course this depends on the daycare, have you talked to anyone who has brought their dog there or read any reviews? Also, while my pup did have all of his shots, he did end up coming down with Giardia AND Kennel Cough at the same time and i had to spend a fortune at the vet and on the meds. It's hard even with vaccines to be 100% sure they wont come down with something. All it takes is one dog with kennel cough or giardia (and the owners not knowing about it which is certainly possible). I think daycare is an amazing option but i would probably wait until your pups had all the vaccines :)

I really don't know the answer to your question, but this place sounds wonderful! I wish I had someplace that was that reasonable ($$) as well as that accomodating.

it will be great when she's older...but right now when she's younger is when i need something the most and i don't know if it's ok without all her shots completed!!

more advice please....these people are very very nice, but i don't want to take her if she's going to get sick...could she get sick from the 12 week old beagle puppy who is still doing her shots too???

would she be okay being away from the other big dogs and being in the freshly cleaned area to pee??

I think the decision is ultimately up to you about what you are willing to risk. She is really still SO young, i'm still in awe that she's away from her mother and litter-mates. How many days of the week would you be bringing her there? If it's only 1 or 2, when you are gone all day, i wouldn't risk it. It sounds like you are home enough the other days of the week that it will be okay for her to be alone, as long as you have someone come home to feed her and play with her. That really, to me, sounds like the better option! If she is only 9 weeks it sounds like she probably hasnt had many of her vaccines. A very sick, young puppy is never something you would want :(

that's kinda what i thought, once she has all her shots i wouldn't worry so much about the whole spay thing...she could still go be with the beagle pup then, but not without all her shots...i don't want a parvo puppy i really really don't and like today her daddy was able to go let her out and feed her at lunch time which normally he can't do on a truck day, but he did today...so she's good today actually!!

yey that's good! This is probably a silly thing to ask, considering, but i'm watching my little 3 month old playing happily with my room mates Shih Tzu puppy who's 6 months old, and i'm wondering if you would consider getting a wonderfully sweet older brother or sister for her? It's just made all the difference with my Oliver and it might be good for such a young puppy to have someone else there with her.

I remember when Zander was young he would whine, so I would come to his xpen and say pipi? outside? and take him outside, a few times of this and he got it in his head, if I cry she is going to take me outside to potty, he eventually gave up.

When I got Jazzie I was away from home for approx. 6 hrs., she would eat her breakfast, I would take her outside to potty when I put her in her xpen I left food in her bowl, since she was so tiny I didn't want to take chances, if she ate great, if not it was there for her. I realize you feed raw, but perhaps you can leave wellness puppy in her bowl while you are gone. Just an idea.

that won't be able to happen. my husband was hard enough to crack with just her and she's our only child for now.

she has royal canin indoor puppy for free feed, when i get to a local petco i might pickup some wellness instead!!
