Cleaning the wee wee after a pee pee..? Sometimes Bailey will pee and then take off on a mad dash and before I can wipe off his little wee wee..then I notice him licking it off himself:eek:..kinda gross, but this is normal I guess eh? Does everyone clean off the extra pee after their boys go potty? I need to be right there in order to get him each time, and sometimes I just can't! |
Believe me, I would if I could. But I'm at work during the day so they just have to make do. Besides with my four boys and one girl, I'd never be able to do anything except follow them around wiping. :p |
I wipe them both at night , before bed !!! they sleep with me. bark@ulater!!!!! manina,miley:aimeeyork,max:animal36 |
I don't get them after every pee, but try to wipe with a baby wipe at least once a day. That usually takes care of any smell. Rocky still has short puppy hair and will occasionally jump up on me too soon after going. I know this sounds gross but I will feel wet on me, so I will give him an extra swipe with the baby wipes and then go wash my arm or leg, whatever it was he brushed up against! All part of having dogs.... |
i don't always when she pees, but i always get her when she poops, i think the licking thing is pretty normal, if i don't wipe Sadie she licks it too, i'm more than ok with it, that saves me a wipey...lol someone has to clean it!? ;) i always wipe when she's going to be coming into our bed, but otherwise, for just pee, i let her get it herself and she's good at keeping herself clean so far... yesterday i had to pull some poo out of her butt hair, it needs a trim, i might be asking my cousin to open shop on Sunday just for me....:) (btw, do they scoot when they have poo stuck just the same as when they have their anal sacs full) i hope i solved the scoot problem there, Mike said she scooted and a little brown came out, maybe that's what was caught in her butt hair or maybe she did release a little anal fluid. the groomer won't take such a young pup for good reason, so she might go see Robin!! |
Sooo glad I'm not the only one who can't wipe atheir little fur boy after every pee! I'm sure Bailey drips little pee drops all over the place, but it seems impossible to prevent all the time, happy I'm not alone!:p |
Since Buddy get's walked it's easy to wipe him. Yes, I wipe his bottom everytime we come back into the house. His feet too:p Since he's up on all the furniture an sleeps with me everything get's a wipe. |
Is his hair on his weewee long? I noticed on peanut when it gets long it gets really gross...So I just make DH help me hold him and I will just put my finger at the tip of his wee wee and cut the hair behind my nail..so I know I wont cut his weewee!!! (Sorry that was kind of gross huh lol) Works everytime!! It seems like when the hair is shorter it doesnt smell as much and drip!! :D |

When Buddy's coat was longer I shaved his underneath and cut the hair to the tip of his lipstick to keep him clean down there. Now that he's shaved on the top I just do the samething. I would think the coat would smell of urine if not cut closer to the body in that area so you could easly give it a wipe.:D |

I get peanut shaved on his body..I get him done about once a month and when it starts to grow I just trim it underneath his belly and trim his lipstick ( I dont' have clippers)..I am going to try the baby wipe thing..I never thought of that..Plus every blue moon he will get a dingle berry that I will have to wipe off!! Speaking of all the pee and poo..I use to have a calico cat growing up "astra" (RIP SWEET LITTLE ASTRA) She would NOT lick her bum!! Never ever ever!! She would clean her other part, but not her bum lol . She lived till she was 16!! I remember her bum was always sooooo crusty..I mean it wasn't to the point where it was crusted shut..but you can tell she didn't lick it. I remember my Mom having to clean it with a wipe like every day lol :D |
I wipe (with baby wipes and dry with kleenex) after every potty. #1 and #2! Her potty area is fence in, about 7x9 feet in size. She comes to me for the treat when she is done and I pick her up carry her in and do the wiping. She can't get away from me when she is out there so that helps. Eva does have a lot of hair where her pee comes out, I am wondering if I should cut it off. But, it seems to create a nice stream that the pee follows to the ground(well it pretty much touches the ground). If I cut it will the pee just spray in any direction??? Anyone else with little girls notice this? A side thought on this...They say when they pee in the house you have to use some enzyme cleaner to get rid of the smell or they will pee there again. Well if you don't wipe their pee off(and the hair can hold a lot) then when the dog lays down they just get a big spot of wet on the floor or the couch. Now wouldn't the dog totally smell that later and possibly just pee there??? I wipe for two reasons, #1 because I don't want to sit in dried urine and fecal matter and #2 because how could I properly potty train her otherwise? They are high maintenance though, really it has been much more work than having both my hairless babies! |
Hmm, Okay, I always check Bailey's bum for stickies after a poo, but sometimes I can't get to him to wipe off his wee before it drips or he licks it etc..even with that I still wipe him quite often, I don't know how many times a 5 month old pup is suppose to pee, Bailey goes quite often! How short can I cut his pee string?..I'm afraid I'll cut it to short:rolleyes: |
ummmm, now I feel like a terrible mommy because I never wipe Bailey. I guess I should start. What kind of wipes do you use? Are they any special kind? I feel so bad now! :( |
I never thought of it this way, GREAT post! I wil from now on be wiping my baby!!!! :) Quote:

You know, after some drama on another thread today I really appreciate the mental picture this one is giving me. Just imagining all of us chasing these little furry little butts around with wipies makes me giggle! Molly sticks her butt in my face way too much to not wipe it!!! |
