Hello Everyone,

So... without opening the discussion of getting your furbabies from pet stores (in my own defense I wasnt completely educated and had no idea those doggies could be from dog mills... i wouldnt do it again but so thankful that I did because I am in love with my little man).

Anyways, the pet store that I got Pierre from is about a 45 min drive away. I was in the area so I thought I would stop by. Usually Pierre loves pet stores... I always take him in to say hello with the puppies... its always a nice little treat for him... well I took him to the store I got him from and he was shaking and so scared. He was nuzzling his little nose into my neck. He wouldnt even look at the dogs. Then I put him on the floor and he went close to the door and cowarded in the corner. It absolutely broke my heart!! The day that I got him... he was so happy and ran around the store like he owned it. Now all he wanted to do was get out of there.

Do you think he remembered?? How could he have possibly?? So crazy! He will be 1 next month and I got him when he was about 2 months old. So I guess about 9 months have gone by. Just curious what everyone's thoughts are on this!!

Maybe he thought you were going to return him.

He definitely remembered. It was probably the smell of the store that jogged his memory. Poor little guy :(

Seems like he remembered. But I don't think it's a good idea to bring him into pet stores like that, lots of dogs can be sick and you wouldn't want him to catch something!

Yes, I definitely think that he remembered. It absolutely broke my heart. I never want to go back there again.

I never thought about him getting sick from the pet store :( The one that i Usually bring him to is a very upscale pet store that is well known... but I guess you sitll never know...

It sure sounds like he remembered and that the memories were not good. Just give him lots of TLC as he might have some bad dreams or anxiety for a couple of days.

That's terrible, it sounds like he had negative experiences associated with that pet store. I have this video of Rockie's breeder l let him listen too; l'm always telling my daughter he remembers her but my daughter disagrees. The pups are very smart and they remember the good with the negative.

It sounds like he remembered to me- it could have smells, noises, or something that striked it up. He probably is so happy with you and got scared he would be kenneled for two months all alone!

Sad to say but yes he would remember. I would never let him go back there again, that bad part of his life is over and he has a loving momma now.

Aw I'm sorry your baby had a bad experience. Poor little thing :( Give him extra hugs from Coco, Pebbles and Trixie.

Thanks for the love everyone!!! I know my poor little guy.... :thumbdown It seriously BROKE my heart. But he had a great day with his mama.... he went with me to the doctors and then to get my hair done. I was so impressed with my little man. My doc loves dogs so she didnt care at all and then while i was getting my hair done... he just sat in my lap and went to sleep. It was like I was holding a stuffed animal. Haha. So that was a nice 8 hour day for him with the drive and all.

Most definitely NEVER EVER EVER bringing him back there again. If you all could have seen it, it would have broken your hearts. I couldnt believe it but it definitely makes sense. I would never leave him there ever. He is the love of my life. I am so happy to know that when I come home I get to see his little face by the front door wagging his tail excited to see me. And I also love waking up in the middle of the night to know that he is snuggled up btwn the hubby and i. Half asleep... I reach down just to know that he is there. And the moment I wake up... I grab him and I hold him and cuddle him before I have to get up. Lol okay okay... I am sorry... I got carried away in the furbaby mushiness!!!!!! :animal36:animal36:animal36
