Kidney Issues for Dan Hi All, This is my first post here. My little guy, Dan is having kidney issues according to his vet. We put him on the Science Diet food and that helped. He is still pee'ing a lot and I know I should stop giving him treats. Any ideas for a little treat that would not upset his new special diet? I would also love to hear from anyone who has gone through the same thing. Thanks, Sheila & Dan |
I'm sorry to hear your Yorkie isn't feeling so well :( . My Tucker went through a liver shunt ordeal, and was put on many differenct science diets, like S/D, C/D, and U/D. We found that he really likes to eat pieces of crushed ice (odd I know) and even though it might call for some extra teeth brushing, we give him lil pieces of peppermint. These treats have worked for Tucker, but you might want to check with your vet. Hope he gets to feeling better soon!!!! ;) |
Oh and I forgot to say, Welcome to YT!!!!! |
Wow! Thanks for the prompt and friendly response. It is great to be here! The good news is that Dan is feeling okay, I'm just getting a little tired of cleaning up after he "spills a drink" (that is our nice way of saying he pee'ed in the kitchen) :aimeeyork I gotta figure out how to post a pic here...he's a cutie. |
I'm so glad he's feeling better :) , and I can't wait to see a picture of him, if you need any help figuring that out let me know! |
1 Attachment(s) hee hee...okay Megan, I'm going to try to do it in this thread. If it works, I'll start a new one introducing myself the the rest of the crew here. |
First Welcome. Sorry to hear your cute little guy, Dan isn't feeling well. I don't know how to help you with your question, As God has blessed me with healthy girls (fingers crossed) But mine like to chew on ice too! :p |
Dan wouldn't dream of chewing ice. He is such a fussy little monkey! He loves carrots, however. |
Thanks so much for the welcome again! Now I'm thinking I should make chicken flavored ice cubes for him :) |
