just a couple quick questions... when i look at other peoples yorkie pics i notice that when theyve gone thru the "fur change" they generally have a golden face and the black/blue/what have u is usually only on their back.. Jerry - if you look at his pictures has a lot more dark fur. by the time his "fur change" is over i dont think there will be much of a difference between his back and face coloring. he has gotten a smidge lighter tho. he dosent seem to be losing much of the darkness on his snout between his eyes and nose. anyways, i was just wondering if it is unusual for a yorkie to be darker than others, or is jerry quite unique? if you have a yorkie with these traits IDE LOVE TO SEE PICS, puppy pics and what they look like now. OH and BTW, when is the fur change usually finished? hes about 6 months now. and one more question (im full of em).. at what age do they stop growing?

Peanut was done with all his color about....8 months I want to say!

When I have his hair longer its really silver...when I shave it down its really black lol...hard to tell what he REALLY is..I know he has a blonde face lol thats about all

Some lines take a bit longer for their gold to clear. A yorkie can take 2 to 3 years before they have completely gone through their color changes.

Some will finish their growing at 5 or 6 months and others will continue to steadily grow.....but, for the most part are done about a year of age.

Yes, some are darker then others, just as coat textures differ.

hmm is peanut a "real" yorkie color if that makes sense??? His color is odd I think...his body is black..only when it really shaved short when its a little long its really silver...his face is pretty much blonde/tan and legs are tan under his chin is tan with a little white I noticed yesterday...hmm i dunno he looks like a yorkie to me but his colors arent yorkie-ish???

Not a whole lot of difference. :p But I just love his dark color. I'm hoping he's not done growing yet. I estimate him to be around 4 - 4 1/2 lbs right now. Would really love to see him between 5 - 6 lbs.

Your yorkie has great coloring.

Yogi is a softcoated yorkie....he will remain black. His head may clear to an all even tan coloring.

Gracie Ruth is a silk yorkie, with correct coloring. The correct term is not grey, but breaking blue.

very cute furbutts!!! Don't you just love the yorkie puppy face!! Melts my heart..I think by far the yorkie breed has the cutest "puppy face" Most breeds grow out of their puppy face, but I think yorkies always have that look, no matter how big or how old they are!! PRICELESS :thumbup:
