Help. Should I let her... Hi everyone, I need some help. Bella starts off playing with Lucky just fine but then I hear this little growling coming for her as she continues to play. So my question is should I let her play like that? Is her little growling a problem? It doesn't sound aggressive or anything. Should I just let her keep playing? They eventually just stop when Lucky is done playing. Help, she's doing it right now. |
They are playing and it includes growls, barks, yips, and bites. It does not lead to aggression...it's just good puppy fun. |
It sounds like a playful growl to me too :) |
let her be, all puppies growl in play, Sadie growls at me and i get nervous but i learned that she's just playing with me like she would a litter mate, if there is biting, the other puppy will yelp and stop play, that's how they learn bite inhibition and to play nice. |
Thanks everyone, I knew it was playing and she never growls at me or tries to bite me, I just was afraid that if I let her play too much like that, that she would later turn into an aggressive adult. But ok, I'll let her enjoy her play time as a puppy with out interruptions. :D |
Mine still play like that and they are 2, 3, and 4. Sometimes it sounds like they are killing each other. |
They are ok . as the above posters mentioned, they are only playing . My 2 do this all the time . It does not mean that they are going to turn into aggressive , biting dogs when older. They know each others limits in doggie language. If it helps, supervise, but do not intervene. It is fun to watch them play. :) |
Yeah, it is fun to watch. :D It even makes me laugh, I just wasn't sure if I was being a good mommy by letting her. She really cracks me up because she just has so much energy and tries to attack Lucky from all angles possible. When they play it's usually Lucky laying down and Bella jumping and running all around him. :p |
