too much barking neighbour complaint !!
 

hi all, I need a rant over a barking issue. ok sophie is barking at anything and everything and its getting on my nerves, we spend alot of time telling her off for barking, the issue for us is whilst we are aware of her barking its not helping dogs over/up the road bark alot which sets her off and we have a zillion cats round her fighting and baiting dogs (standing staring from a distance ) no one else seems to bother to keep their dogs quiet. the woman at the back of us has complained about sophie even though she has a holiday home only and is a lawyer she goes home today but is blaming our dog for ALL the barking, even her growling.OK hand up she was yapping for half hour yesterday cos she could see me across the road (re-fitting a seat in the rv) but she was wimpering and whining, i heard this woman shout at her.
Am i being sensitive ? dogs barking constantly get on my nerves, sophie does nt bark constantly, we do stop her, i feel im being the scape goat, she did nt tell he neighbours about their dogs, even blaming sophiefor night barking (she doesnt) No one likes being told about barking but i think im being targeted. Yes we have tried lots of different methods of control , ok for 5 days then she becomes immune to the new training, i dont want to get angry with her and turn her into one of those shivering wreck, thanks for listening !!!

I understand your frustration. It's like you know she shouldn't bark, but the complaining neighbor is blowing it out of proportion and blaming all of the dogs' barking on yours. My mom is having a similar problem right now. Her neighbor insists on standing at the fence all of the time and yelling at the top of her lungs " SHUUUUTT UUUUP!" She is much more irritating than any bark! But her yelling just incites the dogs and now they hate her so much they bark just because she comes out to the fence. None of us can figure why the woman wants to stand right at the fence other than to aggravate the dogs anyway. But other than sharing a problem with you, I am not offering any help. Sorry. Maybe it will blow over when the lady leaves the island. I hope so anyway!

thanks for the support , i really apreciate it, i have been really hot on her barking this last 24 hours and she has only barked once (3 barks and all over ) she does spend alot of time "on patrol" feeling the need to guard the property i guess, but its not a constant bark or anything, i know when we are at work she just sleeps, this woman is gettin my other neighbour involved claiming she has to have her windows closed bcause of sophie, i know for a fact she would tell me if sophie was becomin too much. Bet when she goes today she wont thank me for her being quiet !! its only because she brings work with her to do on her holiday and expects silence, well go to the office and do it !!! There rant over, i want to enjoy our dog , not constantly be telling her off she s our life and we love her to bits. stupid woman said all pets should be banned........

Have you tried to talk with her to explain that you are working on it? Is she approachable? Make sure you keep Kinnykins in the house when you are away, incase she is crazy!
