Humphrey is way greedier than most dogs. He is a mommy's boy and a daddy's boy. He sleeps on the bed, under the covers in the middle of the bed. If we are watching tv he sits on the couch right between hubby and myself. If I kiss hubby in bed, humphrey will come and put his face right between us and stick his tongue out. I cannot even count the number of times he's tongued my husband and I... its gross but a little funny too. A month ago, we took the little monster to see the ocean for the first time and he loved it, he played until he could no longer walk so hubby grabbed him in order to take him inside, but Humphrey was having none of it. He made it very clear that he wated to be carried by mom and dad, so he carried the top half and I carried his bottom half... it must have looked really stupid. Now hubby jokes that if our marriage is ever on the rocks we will have to stay together for the dog. |
Cooper just got here a week ago, so I am not sure yet. My husband had surgery on his elbow and shoulder and is not back at work yet, so he is with Cooper all day. When I get home from work I hog Cooper a bit because I have missed him so much. Actually I am glad that my DH has been able to bond with Cooper because my hubby is a bit macho (Volunteer Fire Fighter) and I was a littler worried he wouldn't connect with my lil Cooper. But...no worries! He loves him as much as I do. He even bathed and blow dried him yesterday! We have to skin kids, a boy and a girl. Cooper seems to love them both but, they are teenagers and aren't home much. One of the reasons I decided to get Cooper. |
Smokey is SUCH a mama's boy. When we first brought Smokey home and he was getting more comfortable with us, when hubby would come home from work (he worked night shift), Smokey would jump off of our bed barking to greet him and he'd give him a couple quick kisses, then Smokey would run back on the bed and lay across my chest and growl quietly. We did have to break him of that habit, but it was kinda cute. Chip is very neutral. When we first brought him home, Adam didn't have a job so he spent 24/7 with him. Adam took him everywhere and did everything with him. If Chip couldn't come, neither did Adam. But since Adam has a job and it's been 2.5 years, I'm the main caretaker. I feed, train them, and cater to their needs. Chip cuddles with me more and plays with me more, but I can still see where he is a daddy's boy too. Cute story - Adam is in the military and he leaves his army boots laying around random places. When Adam is gone and Chip is looking for him, he'll stick his entire head in Adam's army boot and his tail is just wagging as fast as it can go. :D |
