I don't think you can go wrong either way. We have a boy and a girl. I love being able to dress up my little girl and it's nice that she never has the urge to mark, but they are both so wonderful. |
i have never had a male dog and im afraind of the marking all the time, girls don't hike and the humping is another thing i worrie about. |
Roscoe is neutered and is 11 months. He has never humped anything and he squats like a girl when he pees. He dosen't even mark when we go for walks. Bentley is just 12 weeks, so who knows what he will do, but I plan to get him neutered early so hopefully those bad habits wont start. Plus he likes to follow around his big brother so maybe he will copy that too. |
I have a girl..shes just 9 weeks.. In my experience with dogs..males are easier to housetrain and are more affectionate. Girls are more independent. I chose getting a girl cause I wanted a lil fu fu girl I could play dress up with..that and my lil chi seems to get along the best with female dogs..not that he's mean to male dogs he just has nothing to do with them and I wanted to get a pup that he would eventually play with and get along.. Now that said..I have discovered since I got Miley that that isn't always true..She is extremely affectionate and has been so easy to housetrain so far..So who knows lol |
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the little boys! I have 2 boys, they are from the same litter, so same age (4 years) and they are SUCH momma's boys! I don't get to dress them up in pretty dresses but thats ok, they are tough, rough and tumble boys during the day and at night they are my little snuggle bums! I just adore the boys! |
Boys or girl yorkie boys seem to be winning Out of the post that have answered thank you it seems that the little guys are winning out in what people have and love to death, not that the girls are not loved to death they are also. So keep sharing your thoughts! |
Boys all the way! :) I don't know why - I just like boy dogs better ever since getting Jackson. I grew up with girl dogs. |
We had one of each, and they were both extremely cuddly :) My female was quite a bit more independent, while my male was always the "guard" dog at my side. He never ever needed a leash, as he was always at my feet as we walked. But Macy would run and run and run, not waiting for us  It really depends on the dog though! |
Yorkie babies are wonderful regardless of their sex. I love my baby boy , Rily, but I would love to have a little girl too. Rily got neutered today and I feel so sorry for him tonight. But he is doing great, just very sleepy right now. God Bless his little heart. |
PS It is interesting that so many yorkie owner do seem to favor the boys. I'm glad I got a boy as my first yorkie. We have always had girl dogs....Irish setter and schnauzer. We still have the schnauzer. I think a girl yorkie would be great to dress up and fix her hair. My daughters have girls....a yorkie-russell and a yorkie. They are both very sweet dogs. My son has a boy yorkie too....all four of our dogs are wonderful in their own special way!!!! |
riley oh my im sure riley is alittle tired and sore i hope is gets to feeling better in a snap. give him a hug and a kiss from all of us, little guy is so sweet feel better riley |
We love both of ours. We have Roxie who is my independent, feisty, dominant, loving girl. Then we have Ryder who is mommas boy- his world revolves around me, he is my lap boy, and very sweet- no marking was fixed early, and mild temperament. After having the two- I love my girl but she is high strung and more independent, so I opted for another male pup- I cant wait to see his little personality come through! |
