Has anyone heard of or used this rescue group? It's Scottish Terrier Club of Greater New York Rescue? I know there are tons of volunteers on here who are involved with rescue groups and wondered if anyone has heard of, worked with or adopted from them before? I ask because I just want to cover my bases since I had such a horrible experience with the rescue we got Barley from. Thanks |
Bump....anyone???? |
I'm no help to you. I've never heard of that Rescue. But just wanted to wish you luck in your search for a new dog. :) Good for you though for still wanting to go thru a Rescue even though your lst experience wasn't very good. Let us know when you find your next precious furbaby. |
I see that the rescue said New York, are you looking for a rescue from NY? Because if you are I got Ivy from a rescue. PM me if you are interested. I'm upstate NY. |

My suggestion is to go the AKC parent club and ask for their recommendations if you are looking for a Scottie. I am more than happy to look at a website for you to see if something "redflags" this rescue or not. |

www.stcgny.org I'll look at AKC's site. |
I didn't see any Yorkie listed so maybe I missed it but I believe this is the rescue for the parent Scottie club. I would feel more comfortable if the Yorkie was in foster care so it could be evaluated and brought up to date on shots etc but until I can read what they wrote I am just guessing. What rescue organization did you have a hard time with, if I may ask? |
i've seen the yorkies being listed by that rescue. the two older ones are very cute. are you looking at either of them or are leaning more towards the puppies? |

Are you looking for a Scottie? I have a son(my rescue) scottie from the NT Scottie Rescue.... |
Thank you both! The puppies were listed on Petfinder and are suppose to be in here in VA. I just wondered if anyone has used them as they offer other small dogs when they come in. The rescue group Barley came from was K9 Lifesavers. They seemed legitimate on the internet and on the phone, but then we got Barley in horrible shape. From the meet up to get him to actually seeing his condition, it was night and day. Thanks Ladies!!! |

Here ya go....what do you think? |
Ok, I think I understand. My friend who I did Yorkie rescue with, would post other rescue's dogs as a courtesy. My friend would do this as not all people can work a computer or understand how to post their rescue's on Petfinder. But, if the dog is listed as a courtesy it means they have not seen the dog I am guessing and maybe they don't know the people who are fostering the dogs. Did I understand you to say these were puppies? How old and what is the situation? Normally I would shy away from this but the Scottie Rescue is the parent clubs rescue which I would think would make them a little more responsible but I am just not sure. |
these ones right? Adopt a Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie: Yorkie puppies: Petfinder |

Okay now I see them and yes they are listed as a courtesy listing...they are cute..and I am guessing they are friends...the yorkie rescue and the scottie rescue. |
