Gecko - SP? My Benson has been driving us crazy for the last couple of days and nights. He has worked himself into an absolute frenzy. I couldn't figure out what he was so excited about - we couldn't get him to come inside - and if we barricaded him in the house - he would whine, cry, and beg to go back outside. First thing this morning when I opened the door I realized what the issue was. We've had a gecko out in the yard driving him nuts. He had worked himself so much up this morning, he was making duck noises and couldn't settle himself down. He was so agitated. He put his harness on and took him for a walk to break the behavior, but as soon as we got home he was back in the yard. Fortunately, the gecko has gone into hiding somewhere else and he is finally settling down. |
I have family overseas in Brazil, there are many gecko's there and the yorkies favorite game is to kill them... i know it may sound mean but there are just too many. The good thing is that the yorkies do not eat them, just kill the ones that come too closed to the house, the lawn is big and fenced in, but there is a garden by the house, they "hunt" in the garden...kkkk |
Oh man this reminds me of a story... I was about 15 or so and living at my dad's house. I had a fat kitty that lived in my room only (I got the master bedroom, don't know why my dad gave it to me but whatever :) ) Well my dad hadn't moved out 100% of his things, so there were stacks and piles of his old tax stuff and paperwork underneath one of the counters. So for about three days and nights my kitty would be digging in these papers and envelopes driving me crazy and I couldn't sleep. So one night I finally had it and was gonna toss all the stuff into the closet so he can't play in it anymore. Bundle after bundle I throw it into the closet, then come to the last bundle, I pick it up and *GASP* the biggest lizard I have ever seen! Including his tail he was over a foot long. So I'm freaked out, and I'm looking around my room for something to catch it. I see a tupperware, perfect. Scoop him up. Now what? Well I was so mad at this thing for keeping me up for three days, I let him out in the backyard where these feral stray cats hang out (I fed them). As soon as I put it outside, they pounce on him, and first thing that goes was his tail, then the head. Seemed like they didn't like the body. Ewww still makes me cringe when i think about it! |

One of my cats, Otis, goes NUTS whenever there is a lizard outside the kitchen on our steps. He sits so stiffly and wags his tail and just stares it down. They are the little common blue tailed lizards. One time one got into the house and he killed it and then decided to play with the dead body. It was disgusting! |
We have lizards everywhere. Scooter doesn't pay any attention to them but his sis Bitsy is a regular serial killer of lizards. She loves to kill them and then bring them in the house and lay them nicely on the bed. Thanks Bits..... |
