Acting Strange Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been on in awhile. Life has just been so hectic. I had a baby boy, who is 7 weeks old today. Before he was born, Ginger was our baby. She got a lot of attention from everyone at home. When we brought our son home, we made sure to continue to give Ginger lots of attention. Ginger was great with him and seemed to adjust well. All was great until a couple days ago. My baby has gotten too used to being in my arms, so I decided to try to break him of that and let him cry it out a few times. That same day, while he was napping, I tried to sneak in a shower. I had him in his crib (which is in my room) and Ginger was on my bed. I heard him crying while in the shower, but I had to finish up. He cried the whole time I was getting dressed too. When I was finished, I noticed that Ginger went potty in my room. I was upset at her, scolded her, picked up my son and we all went out of my room. Later that day I noticed a change in Ginger. Every time we would lay the baby down, she would be right next to him and would growl at us anytime we tried to move her. She has been acting really strange since then. She whines all the time and hides in a corner all day. If we try to get her out, she growls at us and will even try to bite us. She bit my daughter & husband yesterday. We think she may be jealous of the baby, think he is her baby, feel neglected by us, or is stressed out because of the baby. We all have given her extra attention these past few days, but she is still acting this way. She hasn't eaten in the past two days. I'm really worried about her. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing and have any advice on what I can do to help get my old Ginger back? |
