Should I charge her? Family that took the 2 pups is leaving to the river for a week on Aug 30th she asked me if I would watch them for her - I said yes. My question is should I charge her and how much? She just took pups last saturday. We've already talked about me watching them everytime she's on vacation because she travels alot in summer. But no sure if it's right to charge if they just went home last week. Just want to do the right thing. Thanks |
I would be worried if you didn't charge they would expect it for free everytime. Maybe you could charge them a reduced fee or something? The last time I boarded a dog was years and years ago, a chihuahua. He was $6 a day. |
It's up to you -- either way would be fine. If you decide to give her a freebie or reduced rate, make sure she knows it is just because the pups just went home and future boarding will be at $? per day. |

Hi! I wouldn't charge her if you agreed without discussing a fee. If she gives you a donation, I would accept that. I would like a previous YT'er mentioned, tell her you are available on a fee basis in the future, and if you want to do this with other doggies, appreciate referrals for dog sitting. Hope this was helpful. I am sure she will be grateful for your services and will use you again. Good Luck! |
In my opinion, it depends. Do you mean you sold her 2 pups just last Saturday? A lot of breeders will offer life-time dog sitting after you purchase puppies. I understand charging in the future, but if they paid $1000 or up for puppies just last week, I'd give them free boarding for the week. But it's up to you! |
I think it is up to your discretion. We always pay our pup sitter even if it is our neighbor- we want them to know how much we appreciate their help. |
