Qualified Pet Care Expenses- For purposes of this section, the term `qualified pet care expenses' means amounts paid in connection with providing care (including veterinary care) for a qualified pet other than any expense in connection with the acquisition of the qualified pet. I didn't see anything about excluding tatoos or body piercing, just no earings! hee hee hee | I find that section to be a bit ambiguous. My boys are cold in December, they need sweaters. If I lived up north, maybe they'd need little boots to walk in the snow so their toes don't freeze. Wouldn't most pet owners consider that providing care? Since it says "including veterinary care" that would lead one to believe that other purchases outside of veterinary care are considered too. It only specifically excludes the cost of purchasing said pet. Since the full text of the bill hasn’t been made available, it’s unclear what restrictions there might be.
Further, what's a qualified pet? Do my parrots counts? My sister's hairless rats? This is a bill begging to be abused at tax time. As much as like to keep my money, I just can't support it as-is. |
