when can you remove a posted thread I'm curious on member's view on this one. When do you think you should be able to remove a thread or comment you posted yourself? I posted a thread on a horrible breeder a couple of years ago -- this breeder eventually lost her registration rights with AKC, went bankrupt and then died of cancer. I don't see the purpose of my thread anymore as this breeder can't sell puppies anymore, and in respect to her family asked to have it removed -- but was told I couldn't b/c it still benefits people. When should we be able to remove our threads: how about if we in the heat of a moment said something insulting to another member -- I see lots of those in threads....and once did it myself but wasn't allowed to remove it.... what do others think????? Please admin don't remove this thread I think it might be good for discussion. |
I see your point but its at the mods and admin's discretion if a post is removed so they get the final word. Thats why you have to be careful what you post or share on here because it becomes a permanent record and anyone could see it. That just goes along with it being an open forum |
On some forums, old threads eventually are deleted, and their sever just doesn't hold that many pages, but Yorkietalk server allows them to hold them all, and you can go to the last page of the General Forum and see how Yorkietalk began. It's fun to read some of the old threads, so many things have changed, especially in the Diet questions, everyone was recommending Science Diet then. Most people don't really read beyond the first few pages of a forum, so unless someone bumps your thread most people will never see it. |
Now if the thread is still open you can request they close it so no one else posts on it. Ive seen that done |
