personality difference of boys and girls? I am looking for your opinion on the difference of the personality between a boy and girl yorkie? I know they will each have there own personality, but just curious if you can see an overall difference between the two? I have my Cooper who just turned 2 years, and he is ALL boy, piss and vinegar, LOL....he LOVES to play ball, will drive you crazy until he gets to play soccer every night, just a total boy, BUT he is also very loving and gives kisses. Just wondering if girls are AS active, play, play, play like he is? Or are girls more laid back? Or more loving ALL the time or crankier? I am wanting a girl soooo bad, and just curious what you all have seen in yours. Cooper was netured the day he was old enough and the girl will be spayed as well, which I know can help with the moodiness/aggressiveness. |
I think it all depends. I have a little boy Yorkie but I grew up with girl dogs. They were all very loving but only when they decided & wanted to be. Girls tend to be more stubborn, independent, and bitchy, really. They can definitely be moody. Jackson is way more laid back most of the time than the girl dogs I've ever been around, but that might just be Jackson. He definitely has his hyper, run-around, barking moments but he generally likes to settle and just chill. He's very loving and attached to me, and boys tend to become more attached to female humans and female dogs become attached to male humans but that's definitely not always the case. Gender doesn't always matter. But me personally... I will always have boy dogs after owning Jackson. But really they are both great and have good things about both, and sometimes you will get a girl who acts like a boy and a boy who acts like a girl! LOL! It all comes down to training and teaching them wrong and right, just like humans. Many will say boys are easier to raise than girls, but it's really how you raise them, not the gender per say. Girls will always be bitchier than guys tho! :P |
It all depends on the personality of the dog. My girl is very sweet, laid back and dependent. She likes to play but shes not as playful as my male. |
boys v girls :D i have had both , i had ross 20 years ago sadly he died at 9 , and i have had poppy 2 .5 years , ross was quite soft , a proper mummies boy , poppy is fiesty and can look after herself :) but she is also very loving , hope this helps ;) love jill n poppy xx :aimeeyork |
Stella used to follow the "girl personality" to a T but now that's she's been spayed she seems to be falling more in the the middle...she's been cuddling with my fiance and I before bed--something she would never do before. And sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and she's licking me or cuddling up next to me. Not to mention she now wants to play CONSTANTLY, so I think it all just depends on the personality of the dog and how they are raised. |
This is VERY helpful.....I got a male just because I was told by many that the boys were so much more loveable...and honestly even though he plays, and is hyper for short periods you could not ask for a more lovey guy, we love him to death.....but now that he is 2, it is KILLING me. I want a girl soooo bad to dress up in the pretty girl dresses, the boy t-shirts are just not cutting it LOL....I am looking at a baby girl this week and am hoping she will a cuddle bug so I will just HAVE to take her..lol |
My male just has to be with you and touching you at all times. My girls love to be played with but like to be on their own. |
My 3 males go go go...2 of my females are laid back, lappers. My youngest female will give the males a run for thier money!:D |
Pip wants to play alot, she's most cuddly right after waking up and that's about it. I'd like for her to be more cuddly but I'll take what I can get! |
Would you suggest a girl after you have a boy or another boy? In your experience what has been easier/better? Thanks! |
I got a female after my first male and then I got a male after her. I didn't have any problems introducing new family members!:D |
Thank you! |
Toby is almost 2 1/2 and he is so laid back and affectionate it's unbelievable. He will lick for hours giving kisses, and wants nothing more than to be sitting on my lap or laying next to me touching me. He's always been very much the kisser and a mama's boy. Lola is just 4 months, and she is WILD!! She runs around the house like she's on fire most of the time, and jumps all over Toby trying to get him to play. She likes to cuddle when she's finally wiped out and ready for a nap, but otherwise she's very independent. We got her hoping she would be more affectionate and bond with DH, but since I do most everything with her that hasn't quite happened. Hmmm, kind of like my skin kids - mom does the work. :p Toby does love her, even if she annoys him at times. BTW...2 are definitely better than 1!!! |
Lola and Cooper should meet! He is a wild man, maybe they would wear each other out making them cuddle bugs...LOL |
