I want to get them to go in the pool. 4 Attachment(s) They are predicting some hot weather finally for us and I wanted to see if my girls would go in a little pool. I bought this one for 3.00 and let them sit in it inside with no water. Cali was fine jumping in and out, Pixie and Roxie sat there like they were being punished. They did finally lay down in it. I can't imagine what will happen when I put water in it this weekend!!! |
Patti...first let me suggest you remove the pool from your living room before filling it with water! :p We bought a little pool for the fids last summer and they loved it while it was empty. It was a fantastic hiding place to lay in ambush for someone to unknowingly hop in and get attacked...it was great for running races in circles and then turning around only to crash into everyone else and it was a wonderful place to go potty so you wouldn't step in it out in the yard while you were running around playing. However...once we filled it with water...it was nothing but a great big bowl for drinking water! Those little stinkers wouldn't step foot inside the pool for nothin' once I filled it up. I thought sure they would love it but I was wrong...good thing it was cheap! |
LOL!! I have a feeling they will do the same as your's!!! But like you said at least it was cheap. |
OK...I'm no mind reader BUT...the faces I see say..".where the hell is this water?...um, Mom, his pool is lame." Sweet babies...they are going to LOVE IT!!!! |
Aww so cute! Cant wait to see the water pictures :D |

I brought one for Rockie just like that one but smaller. Your furbabies all look like angels sitting in there. Were Pixie and Roxie not having a good time.:D |
My babies hated the little kiddie pool. I hope you have better luck. They are all different. They like the big pool though. As you can tell from my avitar picture. My daughter pulls them around in it. Trixie thinks she's the captain and has to be in the front. Coco is just along for the ride, and my Pebbles (the daredevil) jumps out and we yell, "man overboard" then she puts her back in it. We put a little water in it so they get their cool off but they really can't get out of it. Then they come out of the pool and the zoomies begin. It's funny to watch. |
1 Attachment(s) LOL, they are so stinkin' cute. :p Jackson is such a water dog. He loves it. We have a real pool in our backyard over at my dad's house and whenever Jackson needs to cool down, he jumps right in on the top step and lays himself down in the water (like pictured below...). He liked the kiddie pool, too, lol. |

LOL I know they look scared to death. I think I would have better luck if they went to a big pool too. This will just feel like a cheap bath! |

Pool How my dog got started with his pool is: I filled up at small bowl with water and ice cubes. He loved playing in this and getting all the ice cubes out of the bowl. Then we put about 2 inches of water in his pool, I make sure it is on the warm side, and put items that float in it. One of the things he likes is ping pong balls. I buy the orange ones at Wal-Mart. Once he has chewed them up, I just throw them away and give him a new one. By the way, he is a year old and 7 pounds. He goes in and out by himself with no problem. |
I got a kiddie pool for Conner a week ago, and he also thinks it is a big water bowl. I hope to get him to go in tomorrow when it is supposed to be hot. Your girls are adorable. |
I filled the pool today and my dtr and I put Cali is and she paddled around and jumped out, then we put Roxie in and she leaped out, then Pixie quickly paddled and jumped out. I think the water was too cold and I will try again when the water warms up and try taking some water out and putting toys in there. I didn't have the camera with me but they were in and out so fast I don't think I could have caught a pic. |
a little tip for you, throw their fav toy in the pool, cruel I know but it worked for Tia lol:) |
1 Attachment(s) We love our pool!!!!! |
Patti, You think if it gets hotter, they will want to get in? If not let me know, I will be there!:p |

Lol I think I messed up by making the water too deep the first time. I will try again and try and get some pictures. |
How fun! We need one for our two! Roxie loves to swim! Not sure what Ryder will think! |
We got Allie a little plastic pool from WalMart and she loves it. The water warms up through the day and she just jumps in, runs around, and runs out. She likes to drink out of it, and when she was younger, pee in it..... |
I haven't had much luck with Sophie in her little pool. My sons' have a dachshund and a rat terrier and so far the only one that enjoys the kiddle pool is the dachshund. Sophie will go in our big aboveground pool with us, but looks at me like I'm crazy when I suggest the kiddie pool. |
We bought a small pool for Sophie & Hazel, too. They really like it. I got them use to it by putting a small amount of water in at first letting the sun warm it. Then I threw in their squeaky toys and they jumped in after them;) |
Pool The Boys went in the pool on a small "bogie board". Zeke wanted nothing of it. Zack figured out, "If I stay still, I won't fall in". They both will bark at the air bubbles when the circulation jets first come on and go absolutely bongers when I toss an old plastic duck decoy into the pool:D. Neighbors three houses down can hear them barking. |
