Any advice for 2 new parents!?!? We get our Yorkies on August 16th. Any advice?? :) |
Welcome! You have come to the right place to ask questions. I'm new to YT as well. I will be getting my pup toward the end of September. Will your pup be a male or female? Are you crate training? My advice... enjoy your furbaby :) |
I will have a girl named London and a boy named Rome...We are getting them at 13 weeks. They are with their wonderfully sweet breeders until the 16th. They crate trained and we will continue. |
Congrats! Just decide if you are pad training or outside training, keep then on the dog food from the breeder at first, if it is a good food no need to switch, if not switch slowly. I don't know where you plan on having them sleep, but I found they settle down better when in the same room with me. They should do pretty good since they will have each other and not have to get use to being separated from their siblings. How old are they? |
THey will be 14 weeks I believe when we pick them up |
:wavey: Hi and :welcome4:to Yorkie Talk!! I also want to welcome you to the wonderful world of being owned by a yorkie ( in your case 2):) |
My advice - be ready for them to play together - A LOT. I have 2 yorkies (littermates) and they play together all the time. We were SOOO concerned right away that they didn't like each other, were establishing dominance, and being mean to each other. Turns out they were always just playing, and they still do that today (they are 9 1/2 months old now). So long as their tails are up/wagging, they stop if one yelps (as in ouch!), or they stop to get a drink & the other lets them, it's all just play. If yours are littermates, make sure to get them spayed/neutered around 6 months old. Enjoy the new additions to your family!! |
