Hi to all yorkie lovers
 

Hello all,

My name is Mandy, im new here and so glad to have found this site... i live in Holland ( Europe ) with my family of husband, son of 13 yrs, a Boxer of 9, a Labrador of 5 months, and my little Chelsey Yorkie of 10 weeks, shes been with us for 2,5 weeks now and im a proud mum, shes so precious and so very wise as i knew she would be, we had 3 yorkies for many years but sad to say they all passed at the age of 14 years, i know its a good age but selfish as humans can be, we never want to give them up, in the end we do whats best for our faithfull beloved petchildren, for a very long time i couldnt get another yorkie pup because the hurt and pain was too much, but now we live on with fond memories of them all, they all will be with us forever!
They were born in South Africa and 1 of them was from Japan, when we moved to Holland, they were our first priority to get on the plane.

Now we have a new baby and i hope to share and learn a lot on this forum, if im able to share some pics of her with u all i sure will, thats a promise!
She's our Blessing.

Thx for the warm welcome to all, just want to let u know that im going to buy a disposable camera today and will quickly fill it up with puppy pics to show u, i have this annoying digital camera but my goodness i need to study this thing, the memory is full and need to have the card developed, the last time it was full i put the pics on the pc but lost all the pics that were on the card... i know "dutch + blonde" dont go so well lol

Its 8:15am here now, Chelsey has had her wash and is dressed, has eaten and now she's sleeping.... she ll be 11 weeks tomorrow and weighs in at 10 ounces
she's very bubbly and happy, loves to play and tease my labrador pup, and i have to say she's a good baby to and is very gentle with Chelsey allthough she sometimes seems to think that Chelsey is her babydoll and picks her up by her clothes to carry her around, those kind of things make my heart stop for a second, but when i tell her to leave her, she puts her on the floor gently, she mainly does that when Chelsey goes near her waterbowl, maybe she's protecting Chelsey in her way, but i do keep a close eye on them.
Chelsey goes with me everywhere i go, but she's not so "ok" when other ppl pick her up for a cuddle unless she is fast asleep, is that ok? i mean, wont it get worse as she gets older, i dont want her to be affraid of other ppl when she's older.

Nice to know there's another Mandy on this forum :D

Welcome. Chelsey sounds sweet and your lab sounds like a great doggie sibling...I'd love to see a pic of them together if you have one.

As for others holding her....I think it is common for dogs to not want "strangers" to hold them. And, to be honest, I don't know if I'd want just anyone holding my Sophia. I read on another thread that a member has a rule that only she and her husband can hold their yorkie. I am adopting that same policy. These pups are just too precious to risk someone dropping them.

I'm sure (if she's like most Yorkies!!) she will be a friendly and fiesty dog as she grows older. Yorkies seem to think that they are super brave and aren't afraid of much!

Hi and welcome! I am new to the forum but the people here terrific. I am a new Yorkie Mom and all I can say is wow. I have dog and cat and have had others that have past but nothing has touched me the way Sydnee has.

Sydnee right now has taken my son's belt on. Growling and snarling at it and trying to literal tear it up. Chasing after her omw its the toddler years all over again. :D

Congrats on your yorkiebaby, i am sure you will enjoy every minute of her even when she gets up to the "forbidden" things you just cant get mad at them, how can any one? as they say around here ( ones a yorkie, always a yorkie) and its true.... Chelsey is our forth fur baby ..... after the last one passed at the age of 14, i swore NEVER AGAIN but time heals and the sharp edges fade but never will forget ;)
