Help with the cotton coat How do I make my Chicos coat look shiny? He has it short and it is always dull. Any advice appreciated. Thank You:) |
I'm not sure a cotton coat can be made super shiny. The reason it is cottony is because it doesn't contain the proper light reflecting needed to make it bluish and shiny. I haven't found any luck with making Isla's shiny, but maybe someone else has discovered a miracle product! The one good thing about a cotton coat is that it's super soft, though, right?;) |
How old before you know for sure what type of coat they have? Tobie is almost 8 months and I can't figure out if he still has a bit of his puppy coat or if he just has a cotton coat. His coat actually reflects light quite a bit and looks more silky around his head chest and legs but the hair on his back is more fluffy. Oh, and he does have the "blue" color showing. Oh, sorry I don't have an answer to your question... if Tobie has a cotton coat then I would like to know the same thing :) |
A way to tell if the coat will be cottony or silky is to see how a camera flash shines back at you (or a flashlight work, too). If the eye shine is green, their coat is silky. If it's golden then the coat is cottony. Tobie sounds like a silky if he's shiny and has a bluish tint to his body. He may just be growing into it still. But then there's also the modified coat... You'll have to do a search for info on that one. I'm not too sure how to identify that. |
