Heartbeat Does anybody know, if a dog is pregnant is a person able to hear the puppy, or puppies heartbeat with a regular stethascope? If you can at how many weeks? |

The answer to your question is yes. And it is incredible. My stethescope is an inexpensive one we got to listen to horse gut sounds  so it isn't very sensitive. With the most recent litter (born last week) I could hear heartbeats for the last two or three weeks. I didn't mark it on the calander the first time I heard. I could hear multiple heart beats, but could not count pups by the heart beat until after the first two were born and we waited 10 1/2 hours for the third-- at that point I could hear one on each side. |
I have tried but could not. My steth is a cheapo though and I had no one around to help me. I gave up. |
i agree with Cindy. I hear mine at about the last two or three weeks. being a retired nurse, I have a VERY expensive stethescope and I also have a cheap one. there is no difference. |
