please view my video and maybe you can shed some light for my daddies! Hello again..still no news on the move back to Australia BUT here is a link for your viewing assist or maybe confirm some behavior that has had us a little concerned. Let me fill you in before you view it. We started taking Dolce for walks about 1 1/2 months ago.......they started as a few times a week and then when seeing how he enjoyed it we increased it to 4 and 5 times a week. he does use alot of energy at home so we gathered that he would not need to go for walks everyday. We live in Istanbul in a fairly roomy apartmentment so he has PLENTY of running room...and it's a good thing he has 2 daddies that are kids at heart cause we love to play alot. NOW ........for a few weeks now Dolce has been behaving like he is depressed or sulking......if we are on the PC or on the phone or cooking he will just lay on the ground and almost cry. so we leave what we are doing to cheer him up...but we have done this less cause we don't want him thinking that this behavior is gonna get him what he wants every single time. From about 1 week ago this behavior has changed to what looks more like him having a seizure (ears pulled back and nose in the air and licking) and it can go on all day and sometimes days...until he is so stiff he looks like he has had a stroke. BUT should we say the words 'WALK WALK' the seizure position stops...ears come forward....and then within a split second of him realizing that there won't be 'A WALK WALK' he returns to this uncomfortable position agian. should we walk away or if he thinks we can't see him he does not hold this postion.. At night or during his nap he will scream out.....and we can hardly touch him.... it's as if he is sooooooo angry we didn't take him for a walk that he just can't let go of this mission he has to tell us he is not happy with us. OK so he is the FACEBOOK LİNK and you can then go to the video titled ' 3 or more days of this' and then followed by I'm not in a good mood...and I don't like your singing'! and then the 3rd video I SAİD.....I don't wANNA PLAY' ! Feel free to view the others :) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Istanbul/dOLce/122525019216 So..if you could clear or confirm for us our thoughts that would be great :) I should also mention Dolce is 6 months old and we have been told he is going through Puberty .... ok we are hanging out for some feed back .....thanks Dolce's Dads Please .... no....'TAKE HİM TO THE VET' cause we have and there is nothing the vet can se that is physically wrong with him :) |
I think Dolce is playin' ya! You're new daddies...you're worrying too much.... Have you tried completely ignoring the little stinker? |
They're smart little devils and if they find something that will get them what they want, they'll use it. My two get a walk every day, twice if the weathers dry enough, terriers have energy to burn, so if he wants a walk by all means take him. After that if he starts again just try egnoring it. Dogs are one of the few species apart from us who do dream,, so just let him get on with it. Cant hurt to give it a try if you've already ruled out a medical problem. |

Hi, guys. I think there may be something else going on, and that is that he knows what is going on about Australia, or at least that you are worried about something. I say that because as soon as I start talking to my housekeeper about taking a trip, Samantha's behavior changes. She doesn't want me to get dressed, is much more clingy - usually she is very independent, and sometimes cries when I go out. Normally, my going out doesn't bother her at all. I totally understand about the walking. I never take Samantha out because Cairo is not dog friendly, either. Because of the feral dogs, the city puts out poison. Private clubs are also out. A friend of mine had her dog poisoned at the most exclusive private club because they put out poison for the crows. There are also many large dogs off leash at the clubs and one never knows whether they are well trained or even whether they have had their shots. So she goes for day care at her school/club/kennel once a week and that has helped enormously. Maybe you could find a place like that for Dolce. We only have this one in Cairo. Good luck. I wish I could be more help. Vivian |
