OMG, I am just picturing your baby running by and peeing as he goes. That has got to be the funniest thing ever. :D

Leo used to never lift his leg...now he does both. Leo is almost 2 years old.

My boy liifts his leg but i dont think theres anythin wrong with ur dog

Zeus is 8 months old and just started lifting but still squats. No marking.

It doesn't really matter I guess as long as they CAN pee! My situation was very different. The day after I brought Simba home (he was 12 weeks old), I was in shock when he lifted his leg to go pee!!! I asked the breeder if she noticed it, and she said she didn't, so I went to one of the vets that I used to work with and she said that it wasn't impossible, just not very common. From that 2nd day on, he has always lifted his leg. ??!??

My PRINCESS Bella Mia lifts her leg and leans to the side at the same time:confused: go figure. Sometimes she "scratches off" sometimes she doesnt. I am not exactly sure what the requirements in her mind are for whether or not she scratches off.....

My male Mojo squats. He has never lifted his leg or marked, thank God. He is 17 months old and was neutered at 7 months. He pottys outside, has never used a pad. He scratches like crazy and it's so cute. I hope he never starts lifting his leg or starts marking.

Scooter does a combination depending on where he is peeing. If he is doing it on a tree, wall or bush, he lifts a leg. If he is just doing it randomly in the grass, he squats and lifts a leg. Kind of funny to watch. He turns two in a couple weeks and he has done it that way from the beginning.

Copper started lifting his leg shortly after I brought him home at about 11 weeks, He was my first boy dog in a very long time so I just assumed he was being a typical boy:rolleyes: He even showed my cousins neuterd 2 yr old dog how to lift... I think that it is contageous

I had read on another thread that if you get them neutered before they start marking that they will squat to go potty. Don't know how true that is. Harley was neutered at 6 months and he is now 10 months and still squats. They do look silly squatting but I actually like it that way. I don't have to worry about him missing the pee pads.
