Thank you all so much for your kind words of welcome! I can tell already that I am going to thoroughly enjoy this forum! For those who are in the MD area I see puppy play dates in the near future! :D

Thank you also for your input on having a Yorkie in the house with a child. My daughter can be hyper, but isn't all the time. She just has those little bursts of energy that is normal to all young kids. She really loves animals. At the moment we have a guinea pig, that she is allowed to hold when she is sitting down, and under supervision. So, the same rules will apply to the Yorkie, and we will have a talk about being careful around the new puppy, but I think we will be just fine.

To the person who told the story about the Chihuahua (sorry can't remember who all said what!) poor little Chi, and poor baby too! That must have been very traumatic! And to the person who felt silly for saying that the puppy and my daughter would need supervision, don't feel silly! It is a good reminder! And to the person who said some breeders have a hard fast rule about not adopting out to households with kids, thanks for the "heads up". I won't take it personally, I'll just find a breeder who will work with me.
