Help!! Potty training gone wild! My Chloe is 12 weeks old today. She was doing wonderful going on her wee mats at home and in our camper. This time home she is peeing all over the house doesn't matter where she just goes. She is only allowed in the living room and kitchen which is all one big room. I don't understand how she can do so well and then just forget where to go. Please help I am very frustrated.:( I keep putting her on the mat and tell her to go potty but, she just sits and looks at me. I know she has to go.:confuse8: |
do you have a pen and crate for her? that could help a lot. make a schedule (i know it seems rediculous) and keep her in her crate for a certain amount of time. she won't want to soil in her "den", so she'll hold it. then take her to her pee pad, and tell her to go pee. if she doesn't, then don't play with her, and try again in an hour. but if she does, then praise her and play with her lots. also, when she goes for walks, if she goes, then make a command to go with it. then use that same command on the pee pad. it should click after a while. (i am also trying to house-train my yorkie, but i have to re-train mine. this is everything that i have gotten so far. hope it works for you.) |
Do you think she could have a UTI? Kimbo is 12 weeks old and is crated. Right now he only has access to our living room. I have to mop the floor every other night in there because when he pees on his potty pad, he sometimes steps in it. I think he might track a drop or two to the floor and will smell it later and want to pee where he shouldn't. |
I thought Yorkies are just hard to potty train! I know Nico was! Just stick with it is all I can say...it will pay off in the end. Stubborn little things!!!! |
Roxy would do the same thing occasionally when she was a young pup. Never did figure out why, other than she appeared to me to be testing her boundries. Then all of a sudden she'd be back to going like she should. |
Potty Training My yorkie Hogan is over 12 weeks old. I try to stay in command but my wife just babies him. He does good when going outside and uses potty pads. When he used the bathroom other than those places its always by a door rather its closet, backdoor, bedroom etc. He has that down but doesnt no how to alert us. We take him out quiet often and we are always home with him. What should I do for him to let us no when he needs to go? |

Lurpie has the right idea. A great book reference is Housetraining for Dummies. In general, I used that method, but modified if for our situation. Good luck! |
