Wants to be picked up, do yours? I don't know if its a stage they go through(shes a year old) but Tia wants to be picked up A LOT lately. She will paw at my legs or arms if Im sitting and demand a cuddle or carry. I actually enjoy it but do your babies ask for this too? |
Yes Capone is 9 months and he will scratch my leg and he wants to be picked up and held on my side like a baby. I think it's my fault because I used to hold him so much. I love it, I think its cute! |
Zeus doesn't care to be picked up. He will only cuddle on his terms. Enjoy Tia she sounds sweet. |

Layla only asks to be picked up if she is scared by something. I try to avoid picking her up then becuase I know I am just reinforcing her fear. Sometimes if she is very tired or if I have been gone for a while she will ask to be picked up and then I usually will pick her up. |
Chelsea is 16 months old and for the past few months she always wants me to pick her up for a quick cuddle. She will do almost anything to get my attention when she wants to be held - it's so funny. Murphy is the same age and he, just every once in a while, wants for me to pick him up and carry him around with me wherever I go. He'll paw ever so softly at my leg and look up at me with that face I just can't resist. |
My Maggie is 2 and will sit and growl at me until I pick her up and scratch her ears lol. Bossy little thing! She also will roll over and insist on a belly rub in the morning and lots of loves before sleep at night. She keeps me busy busy busy! |
I have a 6 yo and a 3 year old and one paws at me to pick her up and the other will sit and "talk" to me until I pick him up. |
don't you just love their little personalities, all different and yet so similar, not sure that makes sense lol but im sure you know what I mean |

Buddy always wants to be held. He likes to be held like a baby. He will come and scratch my leg and cry till I pick him up to hold him so he can sleep. He Also hates to go for a walk so the whole time he is jumping up trying to get me to pick him up and carrie him like a baby. Its so funny. I should get a video of it cause it is so cute. We went camping and I was trying to play a card game, he kept crying so my MIL asked what was wrong with him so I showed her. He was just sleepy and needed mommy to go to sleep My MIL says we are pathetic. :D |
My Jewels will paw my leg untill i pick her up |

George loves cuddles and asked to get picked up quite often and if there are a lot of people around there is no way he'll walk, we go to the car boot sale on Sundays and he is always in my arms until we get to the lady that sells home made dog treats, he really loves her he gets a free treat. |
Penny asks to be held sometimes; she'll place both paws on my knees and stretch up while looking at me pitifully. She likes to be carried around with her forelegs around my neck in a "hug" and her head looking over my shoulder. |
Zena loves to be picked up and held. She will sit in my lap for as long as I let her; truly a lap dog. ~CD |

Rockie wants to get picked up when he's afraid or wanting to get in my daughters or my bed. He likes to cuddle but on his terms, when he wants nothing to do with us he lets us know by wigglying in our arms.:D |
I wish Ivy would like me to pick her up but no:( But she is never far away :D |
Oh my goodness, I wish Taffy would be so polite as to "ask" to be picked up...LOL If we're reading the mail or the paper and not paying her any attention, all of a sudden there is a thud on our lap and she's peering over or under whatever we're holding. We have never encouraged her to jump on or off things but she's like a cat. It is uncanny how high she can jump from a standing position. The worrier in me gets concerned about all this jumping but it seems to be her instinct. I am more afraid that by trying to interfere we would put her off balance and cause her to sprain a leg or something. She simply cannot stand not to be the center of attention although she does play by herself when she wants to. When she wants attention (generally if we're watching a movie) she'll jump up, lay down and take a nap. I know about the dangers of the knees, etc. but she's is surer footed than we are. We do keep her blocked off from the bedrooms though because we don't want her jumping up that high. She only jumps into our laps or our recliners...never the other furniture so I think it's really because she can't handle not being the focus of our attention all the time. The funniest thing is that when one of us gets up, she takes that chair and has the smuggest look on her face for stealing it. She really thinks she's all that and more when she beats us to our chairs! |

My Pixie is VERY clingy sometimes..she's 2 now. She will climb up my legs and whine or yap to be picked up...and if i'm busy in the kitchen or something she will sit on my foot just to be close to me! she's so funny...when i do pick her up and carry her around, i gently kiss the side of her head and talk to her in a low voice and she almost falls asleep with her eyes rolling! she just LOVES to be nursed...and I love it too!:luvu: |
