As I had said...I'm not sure if Petco carries this food...You will not be able to find it in a grocery or department store...As for how long it will last...that's a hard one..with a puppy I would think approx 3-4 weeks??? I would only buy one bag at a time (if it were me)..that way it's always fresh..I use Merrick..I put it in a plastic bag then in a crock. I havent had a problem with freshness... |

Hiya! I'm still a new mommy too but learning alot as I go. People here have been a big help. Just wanted to share alittle on how we handle things. 1. I feed my baby Wellness Puppy because that's the only thing my picky eater will touch and it's good quality. 2. I have an x-pen that I lined up along the wall by my bed. I put her bed on one end and puppy pads on the other. With food and water in between. This worked great for us and still does. the only problem I have now is if it's dark in the room Lacey wont stay in her pen unless she see's me laying down. LOL 3. Can't really recomend any 1 toy. Lacey is a brat and get's new toys all the time. Even daddy comes home with new one's for his babby girl. She's only 17wks now and own's 23 toys. Haha..and plays with every one of them. Bully stick's are great baby sitter's when cooking or cleaning. 4. Can't answer about the trimming thingie because I'm wanting Lacey's to be long. But she get's a bath often with an oatmeal shampoo(about every week or two). And love's the blower dryer to warm up afterwards. Just don't dry her face or she'll try to bite and the air. LOL too cute! Well this is all we have to share on these topic's but I'm sure you'll get lots more advise. I wish you the best with your new baby. You sound like a great mommy. We can learn together! |

Hi there , and Welcome to YT :) COngradulations on getting a new Yorkie puppy ! how exciting . I am sure you and your family are going to do wonderful with her ! your correct that a little puppy is very much like a human baby. It is great to prepare your children on how to handle such a fraglie puppy , and what to expect with a tiny little yorkie puppy. You have been given wonderful advice already. I just wanted to add, tto try not to overstimulate the new puppy the first couple days in her new home . Menaing , allow her to become use to her new home, and surroundings . She might be timid, shy or a little scared, or might not even want to eat the first day, this is something to watch out for. Have Nutra cal handy, because a young puppy could get hypoglecemia from not eating > Low blood sugar .Nutri cal , needs to be rubbed on her gums to prevent low blood sugar. Try to keep it low key for the little puppy , so she can feel relaxed , and get comfortable, used to her new home. Not to say that she can't be played with , just not too much , where she can become stressed out. She is going to be already stressed out, from leaving her littermates and mother. It's just something to remember. |
congradulations on your new love, food some of the good ones wellness, natural balance, solid gold which chester has done very well on, merrick, innova are some of the main ones. Stay away from science diet, iams, pedigree, eukunuba usually the ones that you can get at a grocery are the yucky ones. Nutical is something to have on hand for hypoglycemic issues, feed them several times a day, the little ones run out of steam quickly. I towel dry chester, alot of yorkies can have sensitive skin, chester does. They will steal your heart quickly, chester is almost 7 and I would move heaven and earth for this little fur butt. Solid gold has some treats called turkey jerkey, they are soft and yuou can break them up, chester loves them, buddt biscuits are something that alot of them like as well and is good stuff. |
