Going from 1 to 3!!! I am actually considering buying a pair of older dogs and need input. They are a 4yr nonfixed female and a 4yr nonfixed male. My Chico is a 2yr nonfixed male who has never shared his house. None of these dogs are agressive with other dogs. What do I do to prepare? What should I expect? I need stories and advice.PLEASE Thanx everyone:D |
I have two neutered males, so I'm not any help. Have you introduced you dog to the other two? If so, how did they get along? |

Well... Is chico friendly with other dogs? I am not certain but my guess would be chico might get a little house agressive being the only dog not non fixed and a little older...But then again you know chico better than any of us. I would for sure get all of them fixed asap before you bring them around eachother.. Prepare for a lot of work!! I had 3 yorkies at one time and it was hard! I enjoyed it very much they are a handfull esp coming from you only having one... It could go really well or really bad.. Good luck |
I would get them all fixed before introducing them to each other. Since yours in not fixed and is a male he might start marking his house when you bring in the other unaltered male which would probably start a marking war between the two. Not to mention that poor female might be bothered by both of them to no end and you can end up with a pregnant female. |

I agree. I would get them all fixed before hand. We just took in a spay female that is 8 years old and she is a doll. I would definatley consider an older dog...she fit into our household like a puzzle piece...potty trained, doesn't chew, and loves the twins. |
