Behavior Question
 
I need help! I have a male yorkie that is not quite one year old. Today started like any other, and he was acting as normal as could be. I left in the afternoon like usual to go to my night class. When my boyfriend got home he called and asked what was wrong with the dog. He said he was acting strange. When I got home, I witnessed it myself. He has been running around rubbing his face and back on the rug and then take off running spastically and then stop randomly and take off again. I tried to put his collar on him to let him outside and he frantically backed away as if he were scared. He will also lay down and growl for about 2 seconds and then jump up move and do it again. I don't know what is wrong with him. Should I be worried?? Please help!!

Does he have all his shots!
 
U may have to take him to your vet, I hope he has all his shots up to date.
Do u think he is playing ? make sure he didn't get into any med in the house.

Do u think he was tiring to get to his ears, when he rubbing his face on the rugs , could b mites in his ears, you need to see a vet.bark@ulater!

Shots should be fine...
 
I have an appointment next week for another round of shots, but they should be up to date. The only thing I did differently today was he got his flea/tick medication, but it was a new brand. I was afraid that might be the cause so I gave him a bath to wash it off. He finally went to sleep now, but it was very out of the norm. Maybe I'll call the vet tomorrow and take him in early. Thanks for your help!

I would check his ears. My MILs morkie will do that when he has yeast in his ears- he gets these infections about every 8 months or so. Good luck!

B careful with Flea/tick medication u need to give the right dose for his weight, and please don't buy flea/tick meds at a cheap store or with out yr vet approve, I order my thur the internet, I need my vet infor for it.,
also my miley got so sick when I brought same at walmart, she got soo sick so now I order it over the internet. Good luck!!!
Please take him in to see yr Vet , keep us up to date.

I'm going to call tomorrow and hopefully get him in to check out his ears or see if it was the new meds! Thanks for your help you two!

He'll be okay!
 
We just got back from the vet's office and found out that he had a severe allergic reaction to the off-brand flea medicine AND has ear mites!!! :( So he had to get a shot and ear drops... but he'll be fine with his meds and a little TLC!! Thanks for the help!

So happy he will b okay ! That what I was asking about the flea medicine, I got some at Walmart and my Miley had a real bad reaction to it, and when I got her she had real bad ear mites. She is doing great !
I'm so happy for u , with meds and TLC lol he will be fine.
