Going On Long International Trip - Need Advice We are going on a 2 month trip to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and India, in Aug. Our 9 month old furbaby Veer, will be going on first long airline trip. Any advice on how to make the experience comfortable and fun, any medication to give or to take on the trip for my Veer. |
I could be wrong.. check with the rules of the airlines and the countries that you're going to...but i think your little one has to be quarantined for a few weeks before your trip? I'm not positive. My dog LOVES to fly..he settles right in for a long nap...most of the time i'm waking him up at the end of the flight! Good luck and have a wonderful trip! |
Thank you.. I found it impossible to get any info on that matter from Malaysian consulate website.. sent them an email hopefully they will response. when I called and asked they said its on the website. |

1. Some of these travel agents specialized in Malaysia (and rest of Asia, perhaps) may be able to give you a clear answer. Tourism Malaysia : Travel Agents 2. Check this blog on pet relocation just in case: http://petrelocation.blogspot.com/2008/02/kuala-lumpur-animal-quarantine- station.html Good luck and bon voyage to all of you! |
I do not have any experience with that part of the world, however will relay my research relative to an upcoming EU trip. There are apparently requirements for entry into the foreign country as well as reentry requirements to get back into the United States From my research thus far, getting in the EU: 1) 15 digit microchip (be careful because some US chip providers only give the 9-digit one) 2) Vet certificate on health (within a certain timeframe prior to trip) 3) Current rabies certificate (showing vaccine within a certain timeframe prior to trip) USA Re-entry requires 2 and 3 above My understanding is quarantine only occurs if the requirements are not properly met. Again, I am just beginning my research so I may not have things entirely accurate. It is also likely your destination countries will have different requirements. Hopefully you hear from the consulate. You may also want to check with your airline regarding time out of the carrier for feeding, potty, etc. It may also vary based on what class of travel you are using (first, business, coach). Good luck! |
Thank you so much! |
