Sleeping After Bath? Ok, I know that this is probably a dumb question, but I just gave Sophie (13 wks old) a bath. She played for a little while and now she's sleeping in my lap. Is the sleeping after a bath normal? The reason I ask this is because I used the Hartz puppy shampoo and I've heard bad stuff about the flea and tick drops but nothing about the shampoo... I had just asked a question in another thread about what kind of puppy shampoo and I'm going to petco to get one there, but before I could, DH brought home the Hartz. I don't think I used much, I guess I'm just paranoid since I've read bad things about them. But I'm going to Petco today or tomorrow to get some better shampoo. So, back to my question...is sleeping after the bath ok or normal for a 13 week old puppy? |
yes what you will find out is that a puppy will sleep most of the day. i haven't heard anything about the shampoo so i can't help you there .... hope all is well |
I did reply to your thread about the shampoo. I wouldn't use the Hartz. I gave you come recommendations, but anything you get at Petco or PetSmart will be better than the Hartz. But the Hartz hasn't hurt your baby. I'm sure that the nice warm water soothed the baby and relaxed him. Keep him warm after the bath while he is sleeping then he'll be ready to play when he wakes up, then go right back to sleep! You are doing fine, it is totally normal. |

Thanks again! |
Definitely normal. You'd know if she was having a reaction of some sort. She wouldn't be comfortable enough to be sleeping. I used to wrap up Stella in a nice warm towel straight from the dryer after I gave her a bath so that she could take a nap. That was really only the ever time she'd fall asleep in my arms, so it must've been really calming. |
