Anyone from LA? I have a question for anyone that can help. I am going to LA from Uk for 3 months and wonder if I should bring my Yorki or leave her with my mom. How is it for a dog in LA? Is there any places to take them out without a lead? I've read that there is hardly any dog friendly areas and you need to keep them on a lead most of the time. My dog is a very sporty one :) I go with her jogging everyday, then I take her for at least an hour walk in the park ,throwing boll ( which she loves).On top of it we go out morning and evening for a quick toilet visit:) plus I take her everywhere I go. Basically she is a very very lively , playful little wonder and I am not sure how I will be able to fulfill her needs of physical exercise if I can not take her out anywhere, except on the lead outside the house , on the road with cars around. Please help since I do not know what to do. I can not face leaving her for so long at the same time she have a lovely big forest here and my mom that adores her and will take her out 10 times a day:) |
What part of la will you be visiting for three months. There are lots of dog friendly parks in la where you can take your furbaby to socialize with other dogs. Having a leash with walking your baby in la is the law where I live; its for the safety of your dog as well as other dogs:) Depending on the aggression of other dogs I feel better with the leash protection. |
Thank you for such a quick reply. I will be living in Beverly Hills. I do agree about the leash but how am I suppose to let her run around then. She need to do that or she start to climbing the walls. |
You will find lots of dog friendly parks that you will be able to take your furbaby in Beverly Hills. Just search the iternet, you'll and your baby will do just great. Good luck with your trip.:thumbup: |
Some parts of Los Angeles are quite dog friendly. You might want to look here for example for facilities close to Beverly Hills -- DogFriendly.com's City Guide: Hollywood - West LA, California If you check Dog Friendly, Los Angeles you'll probably see more listings. You will find that the "on leash(lead)" requirement is virtually universal here except for dog parks. Frankly, although my two will stay right by me, I'd never let go of their leashes in public areas. That is just a safety and security issue for me. |
You should also check to make sure you can bring your dog back into the country with no quarantee or problems. It's probably different if the dog originally came from the UK -- but for a dog just going to the UK from the US, there are some pretty strict customs/quarantee rules. |
