I have let Niyah sleep with me this week since I got her even though she is crate trained but tonight I am breaking that habit before that becomes a habit. I like many of you are afraid that I will roll on her plus I like my space too. |
Lucy sleeps in her bed on the floor in my room. Now, don't get me wrong I love when she sleeps with me because she's a great little snuggler but I didn't want her to get use to sleeping in my bed every night and she gets a little too excited when my boyfriend is in bed with me. I thought it would take forever to get her back into her bed but after two nights of not picking her up into my bed she gave up and is happy in her bed. On weekends if I sleep in I let her in for a little snuggle in the morning but she doesn't constantly jump up next to the bed begging to be let in anymore. :) |
I wanted to add, my boyfriend was against me getting Lucy and didn't think she should EVER be allowed in the bed. Well, the other morning I got up before him, looked in the bedroom after showering and who is in the bed with him...Lucy....and Lucy is too tiny to jump into the bed by herself. I went over to him and whispered into his ear that he's just as bad as me. ;) He secretly loves her. |
Apple sleeps on any one of about 10 different pillows in the living room, or the couch or a chair, or her two little beds...I tried letting her sleep w/me for a couple of nights, but I was sooooooo afraid she'd jump off the bed, I didn't sleep well, and I have to get up and go to work :(...When I moved her back into the living room (w/access to the kitchen/dining room/entry hall, I think she seemed to be more content...She started sleeping in there, when she first came, and I think that's where she prefers to sleep...AAAAAnd, since I'm not getting her spayed, 'till she's 18 months old, whenever her cycle comes around, she'll be on wood or tile floor......Much better than my sheets lol.... |
Andy has always slept with me ,I have sleep Apnea and sleep with a CPAP machine .He wakes me when once in awhile as sometimes I roll over and pull the hose out from the machine .different noise I suppose |
Maddy sleeps with us... she usually lays right at my feet. Lately, she has been scooting up right next to my side, laying in the curve of my side. She has slept with us from day one and does great. |
I also have sleep apnea, but I'm not a thrasher and my mask rarely ever moves. If I start to turn over, I just automatically wake up and look for Riley. He's the only one that sleeps with me, the others will only sleep in their crates. He's the smallest and I'll admit, he's more than a little spoiled. He's got the sweetest, calmest personality though. He'll either curl up between my body and my arm when I'm laying on my back or he'll get up the right side of my head beside my pillow and sleep. |

Pixie now sleeps in her bed next to our bed..but she wakes me every morning between 5-6 to be lifted up for a cuddle and there she stays till we get up! |
Have you ever seen something called a co-sleeper? It is made for human babies so they can be next to mom to breastfeed or whatever but far enough away that you won't roll on them. It hooke under the mattress like a bedrail. |
I also forgot to add that I just recently saw a co-sleeper on Craigslist for $25 |
Have you tried putting her little bed in the kennel right next to your bed? I'm sure she'd fuss for a few nights, but eventually you could take away the kennel and just leave the bed on the floor. Kimbo loves his crate and sleeps in it every night. We have to do this because my husband is a very light sleeper and Kimbo changes positions a lot. |
The following sleep on my bed Mazie 31 lb English Cocker Spaniel, Misty 5 lb Yorkie, and Baby Cassie 1 lb 3 oz. I also used to have an additional cocker, Mork sleeping with us. Glad I have a Queen sized bed! |
you can still get her to sleep on her bed but you'll have to toughen up first! she will whine and cry for a few nights but it will go away. the plus side of this is if you get her used to sleeping by herself you can get her to join you on your bed on those "spare" nights that you want to be sleepless :p. i put my foot down and did this with yogurt when he was a puppy and now he gets it when mommy wants company and when mommy doesnt. its a treat! |
Scooter sleeps with me in my bed. He likes to go under the covers and occasionally pops his head out. I have a king size bed and he keeps me company in it. He has a pet bed that he uses during the day but if I a home, he is in bed with me. It started when he got sick and couldnt settle. He was still a puppy then and I thought it would only be until he got better. He was never crated but he used to like his pet bed at night. Here it is a year and a half later and he is still sleeping with me. I even bought special pet stairs so he could get on and off my bed easier. It was an adjustment at first but now I can't sleep good without him with me. He is a little angel. |
Gizmo sleeps right in the middle of our bed, between DH and I. We go to bed around 10pm every night and we have a routine, potty outside then upstairs for bed. Gizmo runs up the steps and jumps into bed, does his little circles then plops right down. Usually that's where he'll be most of the night, sometimes he goes in his doggy bed which is also in the bedroom! |
