What kind of pee pads do you use??? :rolleyes: Are there such thing as better one where the dog is more likely to pee on them |
Im not sure if they have scented ones or not, but I know you can buy a spray that is suppose to help encourge them to go on the pad. Have you tried washable ones?... I didnt have much luck using pee pads. All of my dogs are trained to go oustide.. have you tried taking him out to go? Some dogs just dont like pee pads |

... From my experience there are GOOD AND BAD Puppy pads just like with everything else. I have used quilted high quality ones form a local pet store I have used the blue pads that are sold all over I have used Target Puppy Pads I have used Wal-Mart Puppy Pads I have used the Wee Wee Pads at PetSmart AND NONE COMPARE TO THESE Simple Solution Stay at Home Floor Protection Pads! They have NO ODOR Treated for attraction and my baby goes on the everytime, plus... No LEAKS and they are very thick and large.. I will swear by them. The edges do not come undone like other brands either. Good Luck with your search... |
I use Out that I get at walmart. I use to use the Simple Solutions but they are too expensive for me and these work just as well. |
Never tried the OUT Patti are they a brand of puppy pad sold there? I don't think they have those here just the off brand... I can get the Simple Solutions for $20 for a 50 pack which is OK considering I paid $17 for some that were just awful. Quote:

I use the Target pee pee pads. I also use the $12 plastic frame from PatSmart to keep the pad in place. If you are placing the pads on a slippery tile floor I would recommend purchasing one if the frames. It also prevents them from going on the side of the pad since there is a raised frame there. |
So has anyone during traing changed the brand of pads and then your dog started using them |
I've switched to using Shamwow's as peepads this last month, and I like them! They absorb so well and are reusable and good for the environment. I just make sure to put a plastic liner underneath. Anyways, that may not work with a puppy in training. Missy was fully trained to use the regular ol' blue peepads before I made the switch. I don't think that any pad is "better" per say, as far as helping your pup to use them more frequently. There are three things that have always helped me to train my puppies. 1)Patience 2)Praise 3)Treats! :) |
I use the ones from Publix Supermarket. I have tried Arm and Hammer and they were just terrible. The ones from Publix are super thick and great! |
I've been using Simple Solution Economy Puppy Training Pads without issue for either of my dogs. No leaks. I've been buying the 150 count boxes normally when they're on sale in PetSmart for CA$32-35. Most recently, I've been stocking on a few boxes because of their additional $5 off coupon for purchases over $25. Coupon deal ends on the 26th of this month, if I recall correctly. This really makes it totally worth it. The cheapest per sheet count I've found so far for pads that work. OUT! from Walmart seems to work out costing much more for me. :( On average for my adult dog, I use one sheet per day. Some batches seem more absorbent than others but most importantly, none have ever leaked. :) |
Zena would seldom use her pee pads. She would rather use my cheap throw rugs from Ikea! Good thing they have a rubber latex like bottom and are washable! So, we stopped buying any type of pee pad for her. |
i use the Hartz Quilted Pee Pads from Walgreens....a pack of 50 for $10. And it can not be shredding like other pee pads...i love them! |
I use Pet Select wee wee pads, I get them at Sams online for a box of 100 for $14.98. They are good. |
