Often times a male yorkie will attach itself to a female in the house, and a female yorkie to a male in the house. I did not know this myself , and brought home my Suzi. She is a little sweetheart. However, when my brother comes over, she totally forgets all abot me, and adores him , it's all about my brother. So I guess their is a bit of truth in this. If i were you, I would start praising your little guy all the time with everything positive. No more physical punishment. Give hime lots of safe treats, spend time playing with him, try winning back his trust. This will take time. But, it will happen. You do the feeding. Talk inn a softer voice, calmer voice. Sit on the floor. Your going to need to really have to undo the fear in your dog . Your going to need to try to have him trust you again. Take it slow, and with great patience, and at your dogs level, let him do all the moves, don't force him to come to you or anything or touch him . All the touching you to to your yorkie from now on has to be gentle , petting, soothing and nice. No more rough, or spanking him , no more of that. it does not work on these tiny breeds. They feel it , and it just terrifies them, Yorkies are very skiddish , and tings like that make them scared very fast .I hope you can undo the emotional damage. |
Yorkie love I hope all works out but please if you cannot find him a home there are lots of us who would gladly take that prince off you hands. But with all that said please try to not try so hard I find out off the people I'm around the ones who don't try are the ones who end up with all the love let it happen naturally. |
There have been alot of great suggestions here for you, I feel the training is very much in need here. If you find that you absolutily can't repair the realstionship, which will take time to heal, you should consider to give him to our GF first if that is a possibility, and if you can't make a break through please find him a good home with lots of love. This was the sadiest post I have read. :animal36 |
Many people have suggested placing the dog with his girlfriend, but if you read the OP's first post, the girlfriend lives in a different country and is only visiting for a month. |

This made me so sad poor little guy ,my baby is 7mts. And during potty training i never yelled at her or spanked her or anything when she had a accident i just loved her anyway and now at 7mts she is completly housebroken no accidents and the love of my life, and i think its all because love and kindess goes a long way .. |

how sad that the OP hasn't replied. I guess we'll never know if she's read the posts or whats going on with her and her little boy. I wish them the best. I hate the thought of a little yorkie being verbally and emotionally abused. |
I don't know what to say after reading this horrific story. I just bought a 2 yr old and 3 lb sweetest angel I have seen. Absolutly no barking. I love it. What makes her eve cuter is watching her as the doorbell rings. Instead of a bark, she gets me to put her down off the couch so that she can run to the door to see who's there all at the same time of no barking. When she sees that it's my kids friends, she does a circle dance for them. That is her way of saying Pick me up and let's go play. According to Niyah's previous owner, Niyah would use pee pads but since I've got her this week, she likes to go outside and believe me, that is some of the greatest ideas I have heard. Although I am not crazy about the way you have treated him, there is hope for you. What I suggest for you to do is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa |
hmm This guy can't be serious. Did you notice his name? BTK was a serial killer. (Bind, Torture, Kill) If he identifies with him enough to use his name then he's not the type of person who should have any dog let alone a yorkie. |
Did he do that just to make us all upset? Quote:

i didn't feel like the person understood anything about the yorkie breed and i also don't think that you should use negative/punishment training on a yellow lab...we had a golden retriever and my dad would slap a person for trying to treat those kinds of genius dogs badly in training...they love positive training more than any dog i know of. our dog Ruger was the single smartest creature i've known and we didn't house train her or anything, she was an outside dog in a kennel, but she was a respectful dog and super smart and we'd never hit her or hurt her to make her mind, the only extreme measure dad ever took with her was very very LOW shock collar training when all other methods failed and she was digging holes (by this time she was older and she couldn't hear commands well) he only used it once or twice and she never dug a hole again, but he'd never beat on her....geez |

i don't like the idea of the poor dog having to rehome again, but if this guy treats the dog with no respect i think the dog would be better off in a loving home that can rehabilitate him.:thumbup: |

I agree only because of the user name I didn't comment - but I do agree with what you just said. If he doesn't love his dog - he needs to find someone who will ps edited to add....hitting a dog - and pushing a dogs face into his excrement is pretty much abuse as far as I'm concerned - all it does is humilate them |

did that make sense? i don't want to sound like a boob here. |

Hmmm.. I think this post is interesting.. I used to be part of another web forum (for wedding planning while I was planning my wedding). And I had over 13k posts on that site so it was pretty easy to spot a fake. I am new to this site so not sure, but this post reminds me of those "fake" posts that we used to get all the time. Fake posters would posts mean or nasty things to get everyone riled up and fighting. Because we care about it and they didnt, so we were the entertainment basically. This post sounds fake to me especially since the OP is new and hasnt posted a reply yet. He is still at only 1 post. JMHO |

If it's a twisted adult...shame on him!:thumbdown |
There's no way this guy is for real. He joined on 7/22 in need of "help" and hasn't come back to check up or post EXCEPT only once on 8/1 just to see what a mess he has tried to make. If I am a newbie to a forum, and I desperately need help enough to post, I am gonna come back and read the responses. Just a little "thanks" would be enough. But nope, nothing. Seriously, I think this is a guy who hates small dogs just trying to get us all riled up. He needs to get a life. I think the dog is not real, and I'm pretty sure this guy doesn't have a gf either. |
you should never use negative disipline. dogs dont respond to that. just like kids why punish with a negative action for the child or dog doing a negatve action. hope that makes sense. my yorkie is 8 month and not completly potty trained but we are still working hard. I also have a yorkie mix that i adopted. she had been abused in the past. still to this day if you move to fast or make an action or drop something she crawls to the ground and shakes. i am not saying you cant have a good relationship but you have to really work and really want to have a good relationship. and if you decide you cant or wont do hat than the pup is better off with your friend or a rescure group just dont give her to a kill center. |

I said right after he posted, PRANK! This jerk is just playing off of the emotions of other people. He is probably having a ball reading all of the posts he got as a result of his FAKE post. Relax and ignore this sick person. |
I'm from KS and I instantly noticed his user name while posting welcomes. Did let Admin know of the name. |
