Some Advise for Katie Please Over the weekend, Katie jumped up on the couch and started yelping/crying. My son brought her to me and told me something was wrong with her leg. I tried to put her down to see what leg it was and she was holding it upright. My first thought was to see if it was broken. I had my son run over to my neighbors since she is an animal rehaber. When she went to look at Katie, her leg seem to be fine. Throughout the evening, she would hold it up cry and then be fine. I am wondering if she could have a Patellar luxation? This morning I wouldnt let her jump off the bed, but she was going to attempt to jump on it. I did take her for a long walk over the weekend, but Katie always runs and jumps around the yard chasing the birds and bunnies. I am looking for opinions please. |
I would take her to the vet. It could be hairline fractured, pulled tendon or LP Let us know! |
The only way to ever be sure is to take her in to the vet and possibly get some x-rays. |
I agree a trip to the vet since it is still bothering her. Keep us posted. |
As the others have said, Katie needs to be seen by your vet. Only X-rays will tell if she's broken anything. He can also manipulate it and grade her patellas. |
When my Stormy began to hold her leg up a bit and limp, two weeks after I brought her home we went to the vet and he was able to physically check for LP and that was the problem. He said she needed surgery to correct it but after that incident it never bothered her again for 6 months. |
xrays.... will bring a piece of mind to you and rule out a fracture... sooner is better... if God forbid it is a fracture, delaying can only make things worse and more expensive !!!!!!!!!! Good luck ! |
Thanks for your advise. I made an appt for Katie for today and last night when I got home from work- she was back to normal. This morning she is still fine. I am thinking I am going to hold off on a vet visit for now and see how she is tonight. |
