Ms. Izzabella May came home today I drove to Nashville today to pick up my baby girl. Before anyone says anything, I know she is to young to be home with me. The lady that was taking care of them was ready to let them go. Please remember she rescued Izzie's mom and is not a breeder nor has she raised yorkies before......The vet gave me strong instructions not to let her down on the ground outside till after 15 weeks when all her shots are done...I already planned that. Also please know that she won't be home alone. I work days and my hubby works nights so there is always someone here to look after her. SO, on my exciting note.....She did very well on the LONG drive, a total of 6 hours. I have set up her house....X-pen, wee pads lined, crate, and toys!!! She is very up. She is eating very well. I am feeding her Innova and she is very playful. The vet said she weighed 1.5lbs. Once she gets settled, I will add more pictures of her homecoming. She is now resting in her crate with a warm fuzzy princess blanket. I am sure I will have many more questions to come now that she is home. |
She looks precious! How old is she? 1.5 pounds of love!!! |
Congrats on the new addition. Because she is so young and small, you may want to get some nutrical to keep on hand. Sometimes they can get hypoglycemic and it will help. Best Wishes!!!! |

Thanks...I do have a tube of that on hand. That was the very first thing I bought when I found out she was coming home with me. |
Congrats on your new addition! I am happy she is doing well tonight- keep us posted! |
Aw thats great!!! Congratulations!!!! |
I'm so excited for you! Love the photos! :D |
How exciting! Congratulations! I can't wait to see pics. |
7-9 weeks is preety normal over here in England, Alfie was 7 weeks, his breeder is very experienced and will only let them go at that age though if he believes they are ready and if he knows the new owners are experienced enough to take care of such a young baby. |
Congrats...can't wait to see more pictures. She is a cutie Lexi was real young when we got her too. She did great and I love the Nutri-Cal it has made a world of difference in her. I didn't know anything about it until I read a post. I love everyone's suggestions they really know their stuff:D Enjoy your new little one and congrats again Hugs Cheryl & Lexi:aimeeyork |
Thank you everyone! We survived our first night and I thought she did REALLY well. She played until around 1030 last night and she was funny to watch. She barked a couple times and I loved listening to her "little" growl as she wrestles with her toys! :D She did not start whining till this morning at 6am....I kept checking on her through the night and she was sound asleep. I think she is doing really well considering her age and the long travel from yesterday. I am really excited!!!!! I'm gonna try and get more pictures taken today and get them posted. awee so cute!! Congratulations on your new baby!! I got both my girls at 8 weeks.... Which everyone says was super young but its been nothing but great. (they werent TOO small to bring home I think which made a huge difference). Good luck on keeping them in til 15 weeks... Mine are 11 weeks and we had to start takin them out cause it was just too hard. thank god we have a big back yard with NO ANIMALS that ever walk in it... so they are great. THey get thier 3rd shots tomorrow... They are doing AMAZING SO FAR! |
