Im new to YT Hello everyone i am charity from petal ms. i bought my yorkie about a month and a half ago. He is 5 months now and is just amazing i fell inlove with him the first day i brung him home. He isn't quite 3lbs and is playful and loving! If i knew i was gonna love yorkies so much i would have started out with them first before going through every breed out there and not liking them lol... if anyone has any information they would like to share with me that would help in my journey of caring for him i would gladly except them.... |
WELCOME!!! Glad to have you here! Would love to see pics of your new baby!:animal36 |
Welcome. So glad you are here. One of the first things I learned about yorkies is that they should never wear a collar, instead they need a harness. Their little trachea's are dangerously fragile. They can have it collapse and that would be possibly fatal. So my one piece of advice is get a harness that goes around their legs, that they can step into, so the pressure is off of the neck area. Hope you get a chance to post some pictures of your sweetie! |

Hi & welcome to YT!:D Mary |
Hi and welcome to YT. You will be able to find out anything you need here. Many have websites that help in grooming and feeding questions. If all else fails always ask a question and someone will be able to answer. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I second the opinion on making sure your baby has a harness not a collar when walking. I do have a collar for Calleigh's ID tags and her microchip ID. When walking always use a harness. If you haven't had your baby microchipped that is a really good idea also. Many dogs have been returned to their loving families by having this simple procedure done. Enjoy your baby. I have had other breeds too, but a Yorkie is such a loving dog. Mine makes me smile all the time. :) |
