Am I Crazy for Getting a 4th? 1 Attachment(s) Well, this might not be the right place to ask that question. I mean most of you are just as crazy as I am! Some of you might even be crazier. :p I have had Prince and Angel for about 3 1/2 years. They will be 7 and 8 this summer. I "inherited" them from a friend of a friend who passed away. The woman who owned them was an older lady who rarely left her house. They were not socialized and had never seen another dog, other than Angel's mom. Prince is Angel's dad. Angel is the perfect example of why puppies should not be taken from their mothers too early. She was taken away at 6 weeks! :( Poor little girl. Among other things, she never really learned how to play. She tries sometimes, but she just doesn't get it. :( She is a VERY good snuggler though. Noah is a puppymill rescue. He is 2 1/2 and I've had him about 2 years. The problem is, he is all puppy and wants to play with someone, but Prince and Angel won't play with him. He has fun with my parents' dogs, but they live an hour away. So what's my point? Noah's getting a puppy! Well, I'm getting a puppy, but I'm really hoping she and Noah will bond and be best buddies. I was getting really discouraged trying to find a new puppy. Long story short, there are some really weird people out there! Why do they think if they love their dogs and let them sleep on their bed, it's okay to over-bread them? Gee, I wonder why they wanted to bring the puppy to me instead of me going to their house? I ended up finding a couple who have puppies for sale and only live 6 miles from me. They own two Yorkies. Dad has now been fixed and mom will be after the puppies are weaned. They are very nice people who obviously take very good care of their dogs. Noah and I went to meet the puppies and the parents (human and canine parents). I instantly fell in love. The puppy is only 4 1/2 weeks old so we have a long wait ahead of us. They are letting the puppies go at 8 weeks, but agreed to keep my little girl for 12 weeks. Angel and I are going to go visit our puppy Wednesday. I can't wait! Wow, I guess I ramble when I'm excited. Anyhow, here is a picture of little Lexi Grace with here sister and one of her brothers. |
Adorable... Congratulations |
I am in your same boat! I am looking at getting another little guy! I hope that it works out great for you all. It is so exciting to add newbies to our families, keep us updated on how things work out!;) |
:congrats: on getting your new puppy. The picture of the puppies looks adorable. Lexi Grace is a beautiful name. |
Congrats on getting a puppy! :) |
Thank you. I'm pretty excited! I've put a lot of thought into it. Do I REALLY need a fourth one? So far, everyone says four really isn't that much different from having three. It's going to be a really long 8 weeks, waiting for her to come home! |
Congrats!!!!! Yep, we are all crazy about yorkies and cant just have one!!! LOL!!! We just brought home our third and it's wonderful!!! :) Go for it!!! |
Congrats on the new addition to the family! :) |
Congratulations on your new addition!!! Good luck getting through the next 8 weeks! LOL |
Congratulation!!:) |
Oh, they are absolutely precious. Congrats on your new baby. I'm sure all four of them will be great together and bring you even MORE joy! :D |
Congrats--I have 4 dogs--and 2 are bigger(30lbs and 70lbs), so another yorkie is great. I asked my hubby the other day if it feels like we have 4 dogs? He said, sarcastically-yes. He isn't a fan of having them--but he loves them all anyways. I am crazy, I would totally go get another one in a heartbeat--my daughter would love to have one that bonded to her and loves her. anyways, keep us posted with pics!!! |
That's wonderful!!! I love the name. I had 4 until my pom passed away earlier this year and I liked having an even number. |
I think that this is such exciting news for you and it will be good for Noah to have a puppy to play with him too. The puppies are so adorable in the picture you posted. I'm so happy for you that you found such a lovely couple with this gorgeous puppies. They are so lucky that this little girl will be going to such a great home. :D |
Congrats!!!:p  |

:congrats: I asked myself that same question when I got 3 and 4 (they came as a pair), and again when we added number 5. Some people may say crazy, but I think of it as having a big family;) |
1st let me say Congrats :D And I love the name!! You now have 3 so no one has to tell you what kind of work more then 1 dog will be. I've got 2 and I better stop looking at the rescue part on YT or I'm going to have 3 :eek::D:D:D |
I have 4 for the same reason that you're thinking about it. My #3 (Oliver) is a "play with me" dog who will bring his toy each night for me to throw for at least two hours. He will fetch his frisbee off the dog until he's too cold and tired to swim anymore. I got Abbi and assumed that they'd play together (she's now 8 months old). Now I have him bugging me to throw his toy and her bugging me to play tug of war or just let her bite my hands, fingers, toes or anything else that she can get hold of on my body! LOL I'm hoping they'll eventually play together, but Oliver is a sucky baby and is quite jealous of her. You could end up with two who are vying for your attention. Michele :-) |

Your story is the exact same reason I got my fourth (Brody). I had Tiffany and Tyler 7 and 8 years old and then I brought Chloe. Well they had their own bond going and they never did play much with her although she was very demanding of them. So I convinced hubby and we got Brody. Brody came to us when Chloe had just turned one. They have the most incredible bond and they love to play and sleep together. It was the best decision we ever made. Now guess what? The older ones at times (not always) play with Brody and Chloe. Its really funny to see the four of them running around the house playing "tag your it". Actually potty training was much easier, Brody picked it up quickly! Congrats to you :))) |
Yes, you are crazy for getting a fourth! I can say that with utter conviction as I wait patiently for my fourth & fifth to get big enough to travel to me!:sidesplt: I know I'm crazy...crazy for Yorkies! |
I think that nothing is wrong with that if you have all the resources and can handle it! I remember the wait getting my little guy, I looked at his picture everyday. We might get a little one for Ranger to play with, but he still has his sister Darla whom is a cat and that he loves playing with very much! Good luck on the little girl!:) |
Thanks everybody. I knew you guys would agree with me :p A couple of the guys at work are trying to talk me out of it - they just don't understand. I really feel sorry for them. Quote:

Tell him it's a business investment - you need another GoFetch model, right? :) We didn't get to go visit Lexi last night because the lady is really busy and overwhelmed with other stuff right now. We re-scheduled for next Wednesday. She said after this week we can come visit any time. Oh, and she's taking lots of pictures for me. :) |
