Working with dogs? I am very stuck right now and have been looking into a hundred different areas of interest. In the fall I will be graduating with an Associates Degree of Applied Sciences in Human Services (social work). I have been curious about getting a psychology degree next or a communications degree, and I have even looked into ultrasound tech. The more that I think about this it makes me wonder what I could do that I could make decent money and work with dogs- I would prefer smaller breeds but I love them all. I am not interested in being a vet or vet tech because I could not deal with seeing all the losses daily. I am just wondering if anyone has any advice or if there is anything out there where I could be doing what I love- sorry to vent but just wondering where I am going to go... |
maybe you can look into becoming a dog trainer, groomer, working at a dog boutique, or working at a doggie day care? hopefully others have more ideas for you! :) |
I worked as an xray tech for 20 years and then became a dog groomer and I absolutely love it. It is hard work but very rewarding. |
I feel the same as you right now. I'm almost finished with my Associates, planning on transferring to a 4 year university in the Spring of 2010 with a Bachelors in Communications but my true passion is seriously dogs. I just love them and love working with them and training with them. One day, I'd love to own my own dog training facility and become a certified dog trainer. But, who knows what my future holds! I do a lot of dog sitting currently, which I love. Main options are dog groomer, dog trainer, dog sitter/walker, dog day care facility, rescuing animals, basically everything Yorkiepuppie said above. :) |
