Max is still having trouble A few weeks ago I posted a thread about Max and an incident with a Nylabone. He chewed part of it and swallowed it and then had vomiting spells for two days until he became dehydrated and had to make a visit to the ER where they gave him fluids but found no Nylabone anywhere in his system. Since then he has been having episodes of what sounds like a reverse sneeze and yesterday started regurgitating his food within an hour after eating. I really believe this is all due to that Nylabone. Am I over-reacting? What do you think? |
Also forgot to add that we are taking him to the vet today. I hope they can find out what is going on so they can help him. He was a healthy dog until the Nylabone problem. |
Ahhh...I really don't know, hoping the Vet can figure it out :( Prayers coming your way :) |
Hope he get better :) |
Arn't they supposed to be the safest of bones to give? I got Tia one because they don't splinter and cause no harm. Hope your baby gets better , keep us posted. Putting Tias one away. |
All my dogs chew the nylabones and we have never had a problem. I hope you can figure it out soon and your baby feels better! |
Umm.... :aimeeyork:animal-pa Maybe it's just the heat of summer..... or a tummy thing....I hope it's nothing! I will say a little prayer to St. Francis of Assisi! I know you are worried I would be too. I'm sorry I can not say anything to help you but in this case I have no idea. I would see maybe about a x-ray of throat just to make sure its not cure or anything.:aimeeyork:animal-pa God Bless! |
Nylabones aren't always seen on xray, so I think a partial obstruction would be possible. Just asked "Archie" on YT about Nylabone problems... |
Max is home I was too tired to update last night so here it goes. They took another x-ray of Max yesterday and still nothing looked abnormal which is good. She also ruled out megaesophagus. So they kept him for a few hours to give him fluids and also gave him a shot of Cerenia. The vet thinks he has gastritis/esophagitis. So he came home with 3 medicines:Cerenia, Sucralfate, and Pepcid. Poor baby! It is quite a challenge to get all his medicines right because one is an hour before food and one is 30 minutes before food and other medicines. UGH!!! I hope this cures his problem. We are all ready for a happy, healthy household again. Thanks for listening and for the well wishes.:) |
