I need help!! My little Penny has been diving under the couch recently. She's five months old and we've had her since two months and we've done everything to make sure she's loved and cared for properly. The vet says she's in good health but all of a sudden she runs under the couch and refuses to come out. We try to get her and she stays out for a little while if we watch her constantly but as soon as we aren't looking she runs around under there and behind the couch. Does anyone have any ideas as to why she might do that? I used to be able to take her in the living room with me all the time but for the past two weeks I can't let her in there at all. I don't want her going under there, it's an old couch and she's teething like crazy and I don't want her to get hurt or anything. Please help!! Thanks!! |
Maybe there is something under there that she is chewing on?.... |

have you checked for poopies? lily has been running behind my couch or under my bed to hide and poop .dont know why she just started this .she was 99 percent on pads . |
We had the same thing happen when he was the same age. I believe that he just liked the "den" effect. I was terrified because the couch has BARELY any room underneath it and he would be able to get in but it was very hard to for him to wiggle himself out. I discovered that by getting upset while he was under the couch just upset him and then he banged his head while trying to get out. My poor little love bug! When my husband was home he would be able to lift the couch and I would grab him. Obviously we were deathly afraid that the couch could fall while it was lifted. We ended putting "tube style" Fed Ex boxes which block the back of the couch. They are triangular and long. It blocked him until he learned that he could push the boxes out of the way. Smart cookie! So then I put 5lb weights inside each tube. Worked great but then he began chewing the boxes. Now we still have the boxes and we have an expen around the back and sides of the couch with the Fed Ex boxes. Sometimes he still manages to sneak thru to get a quick chew but it really has worked for us! :animal36 |
potty wise she still is running to the pad or goes outside. we don't want her to bump her head either or get stuck and we don't want to freak her out while we're getting her out! i HOPE she's not chewing on anything! i think we need to block the couch! she's too smart for her own good! |
