new mom Just wondering if it's normal to have the canine teeth come in and still have the baby teeth? He has two sets of canines right now. His back teeth have fallen out. He really looks different with 2 sets of canines, right beside each other. He's 6 mos. old_ thanks |
It is normal. Most people have the baby teeth removed at the spay/neuter. If they dont have their dog spay/neuter they wait untill a yr old and try to let them fall out on their own but if they dont they have the vet take them out. It can cause problems if they are left in too long so I wouldnt go any longer than a yr old |
welcome to yorkietalk! a lot of people have their yorkie's baby teeth removed during spay/neuter surgery. milu had a bunch of her baby teeth removed during her spay surgery. |
Hi! :wavey: :welcome4: Yogi had this same issue. We were calling him Jaws for awhile because of all the teeth he had. We had the extra's pulled during his neutering. |
Welcome to YT!!! That is very common. Bella had double sets of canines as well and they were removed during her spay surgery when she was 7 mos. |
My vet recommended to us that if Ryder didnt loose his double that he pull that by 8 months to avoid any issues. We actually opted to do them during his neutering at six months old. Talk with your vet and figure out what works best for your baby! And welcome to YT! |
Welcome to YT! :) You should have the vet remove the baby teeth |
