What a heartwarming story. Your friends are definitely keepers. Are we going to get to see pictures of your new baby? Maltese are beautiful dogs. ~Joanne~ |
Congratulations on your new family member. I hope she brings you years of joy!!! Can't wait to see pics of her.... |
I'm so happy for you. Can we see some pictures? I just a three month old maltipoo and he is just so loving. I'm glad the others are getting along with him. Mine are having a hard time, because when I got him the people told me he got nervous around other dogs. He's starting to loosen up. Bless your friends hearts for being so thoughtful. |

Great friends...where are the photos :D |
That is so sweet. What great friends. Love to see pictures. |
That was so sweet of your friends for caring so much about you :) I love the maltese breed. Cassie is a very cute name . I can't wait to see pictures of her. ;) |
Wow -- that is amazing that friends would buy you a Maltese. Look forward to seeing her pictures romping with your other dogs. I do have a question though....I had asked you what happened to the little yorkie you said you rescued. You mentioned him in your "Missing Max" thread: "...and a rescued 9 month old yorkie who I have only had 2 months, Mikey." You did not answer on the forum but did PM me to say this: Your PM to me (cut and paste): "Re: Mickey ________________________________________ Mickey has a new home that doesn't have small dogs in it. In fact, there are four children that adore him. I took him to the vet and he was actually 11 pounds and was not a Yorkie but rather a shephard mix. When Mikey was here, he had a habit of grabbing my 5 lb Yorkie around the neck and trying to shake her. He was a very loving pup but I could not keep him away from my yorkie. __________________ I guess I am wondering .... is there a Mickey and a Mikey? Or was there never a rescued yorkie? Did you just think he was a yorkie for two months and THEN take him to the vet to find he was a shepherd? You hadn't had him to a vet for 2 months after rescue? What did the rescue say? Was this German Shepherd from the puppies that were left in a box along the road that you posted recently about? You can see how I am getting confused. I don't know why, but I just keep thinking about this little one. With all of those questions, it sounds like an interrogation! Sorry -- just an inquiring mind.... I do wish this little Maltese well and hope she stays healthy. |
Yes, I am also confused. |

I don't know why, but I just keep thinking about this little one. With all of those questions, it sounds like an interrogation! Sorry -- just an inquiring mind.... I spelled his name wrong it is Mikey. I went and found an ad for a older Yorkie for sale. The owner was a 'breeder' from North Dakota and was only asking $200 and she would meet me half way. I met her and she showed me Mikey's alleged parents, 2 beautiful yorkies. She then showed me Mikey. He was as big as the parents, but looked different. She told me that he would look more 'yorkie' as he grew. This pup when I took him was shaking in my lap the entire ride back to Duluth. When we got home, I saw that he was really skinny, he would hide from both me and the other dogs, and if I said anything to him he would flatten himself on the floor and shake. This dog who was 9 months old did not look like a yorkie and it seemed to me that he had not spent anytime with people and probably had been in a kennel a lot. He would not go outside. If I wanted to take him anywhere, I had to carry him and he would bury his head in my shoulder. I did take him to my vet to have him checked out. He weighed in at 9 pounds and other than being underweight and jittery, he was healthy. I asked the vet what breed he actually was and he said with a grin on his face whatever you want it to be. I kept Mikey for about 2 months and he was not as scared of things, he had gained some weight, and started grabbing my yorkie around the neck and pull her around. I couldn't take the chance of that happening if I weren't around. I found a family with four children who were just thrilled to have Mikey. The new owner brought him to her vet to check him out, he had gained two pounds and the vet thought that he was part german shephard. Mikey is very loved and enjoys his new family where he is the only dog. In fact they are working on getting Mikey over his fear of the outside. The german shephard puppies in the box were purebreds. The have all been adopted by families in the area. So, I think everything is straightened and my Yorkie has calmed down since Mikey left. Anything else? |
