kys24: Greenies come in a toothbrush size (maybe 4 inches long) as well as cut up bits, which is probably what you have right now. I believe everyone is talking about the small 4 inch long Greenies to cut up to three. Check where you got your Greenie bits from, they should have the regular sized ones too! :) |
Wow....I always handed Otis the whole thing. I thought they were supposed to lick on them!! Otis doesn't like them. There's been one lying on the ground for about 5 days, now. He just ignores it. |

is it ok to give the tiny bits to hershey as a treat? or is the bar better in some way? |
Well we get the tiny ones and they still are a bit too big for him sometimes. So we usually end up breaking them in half. Which is no easy task! I would ask your local man (no offense to the ladies) to break it up if you want smaller peices. Or get yourself some heavy duty wire cutters or something like that to cut them in half. Tiny bits are just fine. But keep in mind the bigger peice you give him/her the longer she/he will be occupied. ;) A whole one usually gives us about an hour of "free" time. And as we all know "free" time isnt usual when your the proud owner of a yorkie. |
First Greenies are chews made in the shape of a tooth brush and are wonderful for their teeth. I heartily endorse them. Keeps those teeth nice and white and shiny! Now as for size, I buy the petite size and cut into three pieces. I cut them with a serrated knife. My dog weighs 3#, and I think she is too small for a whole one. And, I don't want her to waste any considering the cost. I give it to her each night about eight, and it keeps her busy for about 1/2 hr. KYS24!!! You bought the lil bits. They also have them in the toothbrush size. May have been out of them when you bought them.. In my opinion, they are better for the teeth if they have to chew on them! Pat |
