My uncle's dog died on the 4th of July
 

My uncle Scott and his fiance, Michelle, had a 3 year old Lab named Callie. They brought her over to my dad's house yesterday for the 4th of July. She had THE best day ever... I was not there to witness it, as I was away in Gettysburg on vacation but my dad was dog-sitting Jackson for me. My dad had sent me a few pics throughout the day of Jackson & Callie together and said they got along so well! Callie was getting in the pool for the first time, swimming, have a good ole time...

My dad got a call this morning from his brother saying that Callie died last night! We are in SHOCK! She got so scared from the fireworks that she took off ... and was freaking out so bad, she just kept running and running and wouldn't calm down. They did get back because a neighbor brought her back but as she was in their house, she was running around so fast and wouldn't calm down, and then all the sudden, she stopped breathing. She literally went into cardiac arrest and went so fast, there was no time to do anything! I am so upset as I was planning on bringing Jackson over their house this week to play with Callie. :(

OMG.....that is horrible! I know dogs get scared, but I never realized they could get THAT scared from fireworks. I am so sorry and I will say a prayer for you and your family.

So sorry to hear of the death of your uncles' dog. Poor thing, she was too young to have died like that, RIP Callie.

Poor baby! I wanted to bring mine to the fireworks but decided that it was best not. Glad I didn't now. My prayers for you and the rest of the family.

Our Ritzy almost died yesterday
 

She swam the past two days and was so excited about all the events that nobody noticed she hadn't eaten. She got out of the pool and was disoriented. I rushed her to the animal hospital where her blood sugar dropped to 24 and her temperature dropped to 94. She is better today but very very weak. What a traumatic experience. She is so happy all the time and so full of life.

I am very sorry for the loss of Callie. I know that was Jackson's buddy ! I remember seeing pictures of them together in the pool having a great time. RIP sweet Callie:(
