Hit a snag today lol getting my bike out from the shed to go to work and she thinks shes coming with me! (I wish) She scratching at my legs to pick her up and put her in the basket. :)

That's awesome!! My husband has a scooter,and we put their car seat on the back and off they go. She is much cuter than Toto.Thanks for sharring!!!

Nice pictures!

I used to take my first Yorkie, Pippin on many bike rides. I learned the hard way about the necessity of a harness. We were touring the Antietam battlefield in MD, and he was in my bike basket and a squirrel and ran by... I thought he was too smart to jump out of a high basket, but I was wrong and paid the price for that mistake. He was bloody all over and shaking. I was bloody too after I slammed on the brakes (I was actually dragging him for a bit on a dirt path with lots of rocks until we came to a stop, I went over the handle bars, as he was in his walking harness and it stayed in the basked after he jumped).

After that incident and a trip to the doggy ER, where he pronounced fit and just scratched up, I installed a restraining device to the basket. I would never say that riding with any dog in a basket is completely safe, but it was a vast improvement. I always rode extra careful with him, but you cant control everything when your in a vehicle, even a bike. Recommend you stay on smooth paved bike paths, and stay away from heavy traffic.:thumbup:

oh my goodness, so glad he was ok. Definitely keeping to paths and bridle paths, thanks for the advice though.:thumbup:

My birthday is coming up and I'd love to have a bike basket for Roxie. I also came across helmets for dogs when I was looking at baskets.

Found the basket - thanks for that. I'm really excited to get one...is yours a mountain bike (it's almost all you can get these days....oh for the childhood chopper)? Also, the padded thingy that you have in there - is that from something else? looks like a great setup and I'd love to steal your ideas!
I'm just worried because I'm thinking of adopting another and will need a bit basket! :D

So glad you got one. Yes the bag inside is only £10 from Super buys. Don't forget to post pics and happy riding:p
