Condo living for the Summer.... Help! So Lucas is really getting better with the whole outside bathroom business. He still has accidents, but less of them. My family is spending the summer in BC at our condo, and I'm wondering what I should do. We will be on the 3rd floor. This makes the quick "run outside to pee" a bit more complicated. So here is my question: Should I get Lucas back on the pee pads for the summer? Would this confuse him? I want to prevent accidents as best as I can. Help!!! Thanks! :) |
I've read somewhere you can : build a small wooden box (a right size plastic container will do too) line it with a good plastic so the pee stays in the box pour some dirt in it and buy some grass strip (can't think of the name lol) to put on top. I guess you'd have to water the lawn every now and then but it might work if you have a balcony. |
We have a doggie door which they use most of the time. But when we leave - or at night - they use piddle pads. It doesn't seem to confuse them too much. OTOH, before we bought the house, we lived on the second floor of an apartment complex. The balconies were HUGE, and I was able to build a 4 x 4' "litter box" on the balcony, lined with heavy duty trash bags. The dogs went out there. These little dogs are a lot smarter than we give them credit for. He should be able to figure out piddle pads for emergencies and "outside" when he has the opportunity. |
Smart girl We go back and forth to Illinois and in the weather the snow is high , so the girl won't go out , and she does every thing on the pad and when I do take her out she will do it outside, so both works for her. Now max won't go on the pad , I have to go out rain, or snow, I'm working on it. So I quess every dog is different. I hope to train him on the pad , cause we get bad storm here in Orlando, and mom don't want to go out Lol. max was rehome with me from my ex , he got sick and couldn't take care of him any longer, and he didn't train him on the pad so I got him at 1 1/2 and he is now 2. so I am working on it, he's not lol. bark@ulater manina, miley :aimeeyork, max :aimeeyork |
